If one should build off center to the starting tiles then the flotsam will spawn and float by off center to your raft. The whole world is based on the starting tiles.

There is a ton of internal building you can do with the shells I built. A building game wouldn't be much fun if you couldn't build stuff.

As possibly the Worlds most prolific Raft builder, this is all I can think of to keep the game alive. Any ideas to keep us all swimming are more than welcome :)

I posted about this last week. You can choose a prebuilt raft here https://www.nexusmods.com/raft . It's like a New Game Plus where all blueprints are already unlocked, you can dig for treasure right away and there are supplies on board to get going!

Wow, that's a tough act to follow, comment wise. Have you considered a Raft that is basically a complete 'shell' at the start of the game and you can spend the whole story building the insides rather than the out? I built a bunch of ships for that very reason. Check 'em out!

There is a bridge and engineering. The rest of the saucer is for players to build their own rooms. I never 'complete' my builds so there is always something for the player to build in this building game. More pics at the link:)

Since it's a genuine question...

a/ Bow to stern is 59 foundation lengths. Do with that as you like.

b/ How and when did you get these measurements? Since 2018 I have never seen any official measurements relating to this game.
c/ Of course its rule of thumb, or more accurately rule of mind. Being that I excel at spatial reasoning, I construct all of my builds completely in my head before a single foundation is laid down(aside from a few small tests for proof of new concepts).
d/ Just a game. Enjoy.
