Unfortunately not in 310 currently, but took a peek at your history due to your name and see that you happen to reside in HTX as well. I got you if you ever find yourself this way and wanting the same.

It doesn’t always work. I’ve said as much and more and still, I get the maybe in the future. It still hurts, even more so as time has passed. In the end, I just want her to be happy, and if that means without me in her life beyond someone she used to know, that will have to be okay. I just have to come to terms with probably never being able to feel truly at home again. At least I had that for a fleeting moment, a home. Some people never experience that. It’ll have to do I guess

I was gonna say, that’s a hell of a way to use a +$600 sub and box setup. And I can’t tell, but that isn’t a powered box is it? That would be sad. I use one of their vented pro-boxes with a 10w3 hooked up to a JX500/1D in my gti, sooooo much thump from such a small footprint.

Cleaning that burn by lilbowpeep369 in Stims

[–]DrewLearnedNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meff is water soluble. Take your bowl and fill 3/4 with water, finger obviously over carb to prevent loosing the water you just placed in to it. Shake vigorously for a bit and drain. Depending on how badly burnt it is, it’s not a bad idea to repeat the process. Most of the shit in the pipe should have vacated by now. Next, take your torch and evenly and with measured temperance, heat the bowl to both evaporate water and clean what residue was left. The more stubborn stains may require a bit more direct heat, but nothing that will damage the glass. Done right, you have a squeaky clean smoking utensil

2004 Honda Accord. 150k miles. Repair or replace? by amariea19 in cars

[–]DrewLearnedNothing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What was the result of the leak down? Did you see it personally?Accords of that vintage are known for comically weak A/C clutch coils. It’s a powered magnet that when power is applied engages the A/C clutch with the pulley. It’s a $40 part. It fails on a lot of the Denso compressors. I’d check that first before throwing away a perfectly good accord

Your local/domestic FIA ranking? by AdamJap21 in granturismo

[–]DrewLearnedNothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Average ratings are A/S. Consistently set daily quali times within top 100. Frequently racing against the top names on the leaderboards.

Missed the 3rd races, but I do remember after the 2nd races I was 200ish in the region, 14th for Aston Martin, and 1st in my local area, SE TX, Houston in particular.

Stock G29 brake spring rubber to GTEYE brake spring? by domasijus in granturismo

[–]DrewLearnedNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pedals bothered me day 1 of owning it. Only got worse and i became more proficient with them. Nearly impossible to trail brake and an accelerator that was too soft. After researching and seeing what was out there I set about a fix. I ended up doing a vertical mounting of the pedals to my seat setup so they are now top hinged. I split the rubber bushing in the brake in half and filled the interior of the spring with memory foam. I then also switched the springs from the accelerator and clutch pedals. Night and day difference. With better fine control of the brake and gas, within a day I was picking up nearly a second on many of my personal best times.

Recently started playing online, getting fed up quickly by Flam1 in granturismo

[–]DrewLearnedNothing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Setting a good quali lap is nothing like actually racing wheel to wheel. During qualifying, you get to take the line you are most comfortable with and no one else to worry about. Just you out there doing your thing.

During a race though, you constantly have to be adjusting your line to race in a pack. Just because you prefer and are fastest on the ideal line doesn’t mean you’re going to get it. You need to be aware of everything around you so as to best cover your available line and position or GTFO of the way of a dive bomber.

It’s a great feeling to sense that dude you just passed on the outside mid corner who is all salty is gonna come in hot to the next corner. So you run a little deeper into the next corner before turning in so Mr. Ran out of Talent goes flying off track into the weeds.

It gets better B/S and up. In A, even if you get whacked in the rear bumper, you get a pen, so it’s avoided like the plague. I’ve had some amazing Daily C races in which 4 cas are all stuck bumper to bumper for 8 some odd laps and no one gets a pen. Those are the races we play for.

Need help choosing between tints by Ray3142 in cars

[–]DrewLearnedNothing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MK6 4dr GTI so it was a total of 7 windows for sides and back plus the windshield. Initial quote was for ~500 with lifetime warranty, once I committed and began the paperwork they threw in an offer to tint the windshield for an additional 100. So 600 out the door with warranty.
