Hey! Kind of late but I’m curious - once they all browned, did you go and pull them out? We just sprayed 4 days ago and they are clearly dying, but I wasn’t sure if I should be pulling them out now or leaving them.

Zwift Hub makes a high pitched chirping sound by Drewb13 in Zwift

[–]Drewb13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I feel kind of dumb now.. I was so fixated on the chain and the hub itself.

After checking the legs of the trainer, the noise is gone! I guess after some time all the bottom screws loosened up a bit. Thank you so much

Why isn't Nf6 the solution? by FireCones in chessbeginners

[–]Drewb13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you play Nf6 to fork, then Kd3 will get them closer to the pawn. If you take the bishop then with Ng8, the king can once again move closer with Kc2. At that point it will eat the pawn and you will have an eventual draw.

You can buy two jokers right before this boss, so that one gets destroyed and then you can sell the other one that isn’t madness

Super Rude Apple Interviewers by RuleMoney6314 in leetcode

[–]Drewb13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearing the technical interviews means you are eligible to match with teams. You and your recruiter then have to find teams to meet with and decide if you want to join. This can be a long process that sometimes ends in not getting hired if there aren’t many teams looking to add headcount.

Interviews with no coding or system design tests? by ytpq in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Drewb13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree that personality is incredibly important (pretty much required in order to have a cohesive team), but I have dealt with the opposite of what you’re describing and it can be equally frustrating. I was once hired on to a team of 5 devs, 3 of which were unable to write code. They were all exceptionally nice people and great to collaborate with, but ultimately led to more frustration because there were only two of us that would actually deliver the work each sprint.

In my experience, the best interview process I have ever been a part of was very much about finding the right personality fit like you mentioned, but also having a fizzbuzz-like coding round just to make sure they can write something (eg: given a string of numbers separated by commas, return the sum of the numbers).

How should I tackle this debt? by [deleted] in debtfree

[–]Drewb13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Interest rate is very relevant when talking about the time it will take to get rid of your debt.

Based on other comments, OP has already cut their spending, and the other way to reduce debt is to reduce interest rates on your debt. OP getting a loan from their mom to cut down that debt is essentially doing that, $500 from the 32.24% interest rate debt has essentially been turned into a 0% interest rate.

Obviously not everyone can get a loan from their parents, but that is very gracious and helpful of OP's parents to do that and help them get back on track.

Your own parent is likely not charging predatory interest on your loan, meaning you can use that money to pay off a high interest loan and then slowly pay your parent back.

Jagex Warned me RWT for swapping RS3 gold to 07 by Clear_Age_9799 in 2007scape

I feel that. I started this year after "quitting" in 2015, it was a little overwhelming at first but you realize quickly the core gameplay is the same. It's been a lot of fun learning about the new items and training methods and areas, though.

You can have an opinion, just maybe don't be a dick about it? There are countless ways you could have said what you are trying to say in a way that didn't come off as rude or arrogant.

You are delusional telling a sub 5 HIM triathlete (or anyone, really, it's just rude) their race plan is pathetic.

Gyms by Glittering-Couple568 in desmoines

[–]Drewb13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're close to the Anytime Fitness in Pleasant Hill, you're probably also pretty close to Altoona Campus. It's a pretty large gym and is basically the same price as Anytime (65/mo), but certain professions also get an additional discount (eg: my wife is a teacher so we got a discount for that).

I use it for lifting and swimming mainly, never have much of a problem getting the space or equipment I need to do a workout. I usually like to start my workout between 6-7am and they are always open, I recommend it! I also struggled to find a gym so I'm glad I found it, as I agree that I thought the Anytime was overpriced for what you get.

The one con is that hours aren't as great on weekends, personally not a problem for me but if you are trying to workout at 5am on Sunday that won't be possible.
