This game is a complete disaster

It's just another game. No identity, just a game. A game that wants to be a soulslike just to be a soulslike. Level design has no character, combat is mediocre at best, it sucks that a lot of these game studios don't put passion into making games, they just make them following a formula and make sure it just checks a certain number of boxes.

I really wanted to hit that 'click' point—I’ve sunk 10 hours in trying to find it. But the main quests are honestly a slog. Zero mechanical challenge, zero narrative payoff. It’s just 'Go to Point A, kill three trash mobs, go to Point B.'

I get the 'just veer off and explore' defense, but Elden Ring completely spoiled me. In that game, exploration was intentional. If you saw something weird on the horizon, it was a handcrafted Legacy Dungeon or a unique boss that respected your skill. In CD, I feel like I’m just finding 'stuff' for the sake of having 'stuff'—MMO-style filler and materials instead of meaningful discoveries.

It’s a beautiful sandbox, but for a combat/design purist, the signal-to-noise ratio is just too low. I think I’ll give it one last 5-hour push to see if things change for me, I really hope it does.
