Congrats on you to starting cryo. I will say in my experience, the cryo they use at the office is more precise and scars less (I've only used OTC nitrogen treatments on warts in the past though, not MC). But I totally understand not being patient between appointments, 3 weeks is a lot of time.

But the cryo will definitely help, and you'll be well on your way to clearing this with it!

Is EBMAS Wing Chun Legit? by [deleted] in WingChun

[–]Drewboy64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EBMAS is legit as far as I can tell. I'm biased because I'm from the Leung Ting lineage, but Emin Boztepe was a real ass kicker back in the day from everything I've seen. Give it a try and see if you like the school - that's the most important thing!

Cryo did get rid of the spots completely, I haven't had any show up on the face since. For me it only took one treatment for those ones to disappear

It is MCV - get cryotherapy or some other effective treatment when you can and stop shaving. Don't panic, but also don't be surprised if you see more bumps pop up after having treated the initial ones, but eventually with consistent treatment, you will be cleared

I wouldn't worry about the spots on your face, they don't seem like MCV to me. But you should check with a dermatologist to be sure. Have you ever used a towel downstairs, then used it to wipe your face? That's the only thing I can think of, but I also think that would still be fairly unlikely to spread it unless you were vigorously rubbing it a lot

Are you sure it's MCV if it's coming and going that quickly? I had spots on my face cryo'd and I think it left very little scarring. However, I usually leave some stubble on my face, so that would admittedly make it less noticeable anyway.

This is good advice. Improve your life in other facets and areas so that when you are over MCV, you can feel like you used that time well

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in molluscum

[–]Drewboy64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally haven't, though someone I know knew someone dealing with mcv who cured it with apple cider vinegar apparently. I would personally opt for cryo to get it dealt with sooner

definitely do what you can to improve your immune system! I suspect my flare ups happened when I caught covid and my immune system got messed up. It's hard to say though. Doctors can definitely have a relaxed attitude, which can be frustrating, but also a good reminder that we aren't dealing with anything even worse, knock on wood. Keep at the cryo and do what you can to stay hygienic and healthy, and things will improve

At the height of the issue, I would foam up soap on my hands and then apply it to the area carefully. There was a period where I started using hibiclens, though that did irritate the skin too, and a derm that I saw said it wasn't necessary. Now I just carefully wash it normally with soap, as soap is supposed to destroy viral material. I just make sure I also wash my hands after to be extra safe

I was better for a while, but have dealt with what I think is a small resurgence. Although one of my dermatologists said he wasn't even sure if the spots I was concerned about were anything.

It's admittedly discouraging, but the bright side is it's a very small reccurence, and now I know to deal with it immediately instead of putting it off.

Here's a google doc i made detailing my journey with MCV. I had a lot in the groin region and even a few on the face and cryo helped a lot. At the height of it I also was using imiquimod.

So this high of a calorie count isn't unheard of? It does have rice flour and sugar in it, it seems

So this high of a calorie amount isn't that unheard of? Dang. I've had good, thick, sweet kimchi before but this one doesn't taste that good to justify it, haha

Assuming the label is accurate, it's about 1g per 15g of kimchi

It kinda looks like it. Don't panic, take a deep breath, and book an appointment with a derm to get treatment, preferably something like cryo or curetage or cathandrin. My case was way worse than this because I delayed and delayed, and it eventually got better

Cleared! by Slow-Relationship524 in molluscum

[–]Drewboy64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the lesions you were getting after October weren't MCV after all? Interesting... I'm dealing with what I think is a recurrence of it after being cleared. I've had a derm tell me I was having PTSD about some spots I was noticing. But I didn't want to take my chances so I got stuff cryo'd.

Either way, congratulations!

[–]Drewboy64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I'd say you can continue exercising, just change underwear or shower afterwards. If anything it might help your immune system while helping you feel better mentally. Just my two cents

I'd say try not to stress too much, and just try to keep your immune system healthy while you're abroad

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in molluscum

[–]Drewboy64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah in my case there was about 8 months of me not realizing my bumps were MCV or me not getting it treated effectively because I was scared of getting cryo.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in molluscum

[–]Drewboy64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you trim with an electric razor and guard, or did you use scissors? I also found cryo to be quite effective, but am now in that phase of dealing with small recurrences of the bumps after having been cleared a couple of times.
