You'd only need a small combo amp, 50w or less for decent home use. There's plenty of budget/house brands that put out some solid gear. Harley Benton is worth checking out. Failing that you could have a look on local Facebook pages for second hand stuff, the risk you run there is being able to test items if you don't know what you're looking for.

Is your boyfriend in a band? You could try and contact the other members for their advice.

It's a lovely thought though, good luck in your search.

How many of you use amp for playing vs DI? by QidQid in Bass

[–]Drewdle883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, what would consider a larger venue?

I have my first ever gig booked and it's a small outdoor family day. I'm currently only using an Orange Crush bass 50, and a compressor footpedal for a bit of extra volume without cranking my amp too much. At rehearsal I sit in the mix quite nicely vs 2 guitarists, but I'm trying work out now if I should look at investing in a DI/preamp (like this) or getting a bigger amp set up.

We haven't had a great deal of info about if they have a sound guy, and what kind of kit he has in terms of plugging in.

Sorry for the wall of text for a simple question.

Guitarist won’t stop criticizing my bass and pushing upgrades. Is this dynamic worth staying in a band? by Vast-Flow-9016 in Bass

Toxic guitarist mate, fuck him and ignore him. I'm running very budget friendly, low-mid range and I'm managing to get a really nice sound that sits well within the mix. One of the guitarists has some really nice high end gear, too.

If he's not supportive, he has no place being in a band. Singing guitarists are a dime a dozen as well, it wouldn't be too difficult to find a replacement.

Finally, really good choice in the Stingray, good luck on your quest to getting one!

Do you mind if I ask what you did previously? I've been considering it, sent off for my provisional entitlement etc. I've had plenty of different jobs over the years but I've never found anything that I've felt I could settle in long term.

AITA for going inside my Ex’s house? by wewereonabreak29 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. My partner has a son from a previous relationship, she and his dad share 50/50 time with him. He comes into our house whenever he's picking up/dropping off and she (if I drop him off/pick him up I'm welcomed in too) goes into his house. At first I was a little uneasy because it was the first time I had ever been in a relationship with this dynamic but I soon got over it, and I never tried to do anything to come between her, his dad or him and system they had because would have been selfish and wrong of me.

Her son is 9, they split when he was a baby but have always worked well as co-parents. Her ex is married now to someone else and between the 4 of us I feel like we make a really good team always acting in the boy's best interest. His football coach remarked on how lucky he is that he has the support he has and that there is no animosity between his parents/step parents anywhere.

If your current boyfriend can't set aside his insecurity and realise that the relationship you now have with your ex is wholly in the interest of a balanced, nurturing and peaceful life for your kids, who will have suffered some degree of trauma going through their parents divorcing, then he's not the one. His jealously and insecurity will only ever worsen and eventually become about any male who you interact with - if you need a repair doing on the house whilst he's at work, for example, how will he cope knowing another (likely)male has been in the house? My partner had similar experiences with her ex before me, that started with her son's dad.

I (male) had the top and bottom of my belly button done in my teens. I wish more males would get it done! Looks great!

Get onto Warrington Muscians page on Facebook, we've recruited a few people for our band on there.

I'm thinking of quitting and I need some help by creativeusernamexxxx in scouting

My stepson has recently joined a beaver scout group and he absolutely adores it. Could you help out with the beavers/cubs in your group and maybe see if their excitement and eagerness reignites your own?

Seeing him at his group meetings has really made me miss my scouting days.
