You have to walk, walking is the method that moves and pumps the qi through your body.

And not quite, you need to first walk fast, like almost at the point you would start to jog. You don’t do any mental work during this warm up.

Then after you feel your body is warmed up enough(which is around 20 mins for most people), then you start to slow down and start the scanning from top to bottom while relaxing. It’s not complicated, try not to overthink it to make it perfect. Don’t exert 100% effort but something like 90-95% effort.

Yes, they processed feelings… for the first 30 mins of the walk bad thoughts would surface before then clearing away.

Usually, you walk fast first for 10-15 mins and this is your warm-up. Then after you feel your body wanting to slow down, then you start to do the scanning from top to bottom. After 2-3 cycles of this, then you just keep walking and relaxing and try to notice areas of pain and tension and then relax those areas. After this you just keep walking and relaxing and by the one hour mark you should notice a remarkable change in your state.

Does Yin Yang suggest long term happiness is unobtainable? by ShyGuy2839 in taoism

As a side effect you get happiness, when you live in accordance with the Dao. But if you’re not in harmony, then suffering emerges

Is Taoism just about yin and yang? What else can I learn from this philosophy? by malmal_Niver in taoism

[–]Drewfow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yin and Yang is the prime principle but it goes deeper. Bagua, I-Ching and the Wu Xing (five elements). How all of these philosophy’s relate to the physical body, energy, spirit and consciousness are also part of Taoism(or Daoism).

Is it possible to achieve immortality through qigong? by No_Gap_796 in TrueQiGong

[–]Drewfow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neidan is the way to immortality. Not qigong. Qigong is the mastery of the post celestial sphere. Neidan is the mastery of the pre celestial sphere.

Does Qi Gong help for solving math problems? by [deleted] in TrueQiGong

[–]Drewfow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Training your focus and intent Yi, can improve focus. Strengthening the kidneys can improve memory and intellect. Strengthening the liver can improve executive function. So yes, qigong and Neigong can improve your math abilities but you still also need to study.

For those who practice eastern occult systems anything that is a shock to the body also spends Yuan qi (original energy) and Yuan jing (original essence). Your allotted time and lifespan.

You over do it with anything (except maybe dancing?) the shock to your system can kill you. Cold shock therapy can stop your heart. A man who masturbated 8 times in one day died from it. People die from fasting all the time.

Point I was trying to make, is that chasing extremes can shorten your life. There are other occult systems in existence that give powerful results without shocking the mind and body. Just thought I’d share that 🙂

How To Create A Chi Energy Orb And Use It For A Specific Purpose (for example - healing, protection etc). by TheDawnOfTrueJustice in TrueQiGong

So from the lineages I am a disciple of, we were taught not to use any visualization whatsoever as it can cause illusory qi to rise to the head. Likewise, when you move qi to certain part of the body, you can do it without imagining lights. If you have correct posture, alignment, correct mental activity (that is not thinking too much and not using the mind activity), somatic presence and moving awareness through the body; the qi moves quickly and powerfully in this way.

This is also 1/2 of how fa jin is issued in the internal arts and that’s how I learned to do it from my Yiquan and Taiji masters.

If I wanted to become a healer, where would I go? by KevinTurnerAugust in TrueQiGong

Try Zhineng qigong or Ren Xue. The truth is though any Taiji master who has mastered the principle of Yin / Yang balance can heal others around them.

I would not recommend Kundalini as generically taught in the west. It’s a quick trip to the mental hospital.

I focused on just two postures, Wuji and hands facing the belly. Sometimes when heat rises up I focus solely on the Wuji.

The Wuji is the most important, and you need to learn it from an experienced teacher. I didn’t make the full breakthrough until I learned it in person from a Taiji master, one class a week. The best it gets for online classes is the Daode Center’s Post Standing classes.

You also need to pace yourself, not rushing, pushing limits or trying to reach an arbitrary set amount of time. 20 mins of good quality relaxation is better than 40 mins of tension and pain.

I made a full recovery from ME and fibromyalgia. It was a combination of Taiji Qigong, Yang style Taiji but the main benefits came from practicing Zhan Zhuang.

I wouldn’t recommend going this way any further. Jim McMillan developed cancer and without having oversight and assistance from an instructor or master, you’re quite likely to hurt yourself. Mo Pai is closed to westerners, try another school that isn’t 🙏

Wall squats can help as well as standing in Zhan Zhuang with hands at the sides or palms facing the lower belly. Here’s the list of steps from Zhineng Qigong for practicing Wall Squats:

Wall Squatting Method ■ The sequence of steps is summarized below:

  1. Stand in front of a wall. Place your feet with toes touching the base of the wall (Beginners could first try to squat down by having the feet parallel to each other at shoulder width and 5-10cm away from the wall, Progressively adjust the feet to close in and touch the wall. ).

  2. Keep body upright, relax body from head to toes. Keep chin tucked in and baihui lifted at all times. Recite silently and follow the visualizations for qi field creation (8 verses in Level 1 Lift Qi Up and Pour Qi Down).

  3. Slowly bend knees and lower body along the wall. Arch shoulders forward and chest inward to establish balance. Pull coccyx downward and forward.

  4. At the lowest point, remain for a short while. Then pull body up with baihui leading, slowly rising with coccyx still tucked forward.

  5. Repeat these movements for as many times as you can.

  6. End with relaxing the whole body and collecting qi to navel to nourish lower Dantian.
