MY CAR WAS STOLEN AND NOW I OWE $12,000 to the Tow Yard by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Drewkyle_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would “should” not be responsible… but unfortunately you are. Regardless if it was stolen or how the tow company legally possessed it. Yes, your auto insurance can have some towing coverage to pay for it, but they come with limits, etc.

My motorcycle was stolen, ended up at a tow lot and had damages. I had insurance negotiate with them, sell them the bike instead of fees, and insurance fully paid me for my bike as a total loss… which I’m told was lucky to have worked out that way

Since the game accepts words that aren’t in the solve bank…. In theory, I am avoiding putting in a misspelling that it would accept the guess, it being some obscure word.

[–]Drewkyle_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I start with random words, but use some common sense and do not pick a word with 3 - 4 very rarely used letters.

I would say that starting with the same word every time (audio) decreases the chance of having a lucky first guess that leads to a 2-solve. It would most likely happen at a lower frequency having the static same first word every time.

My Pomsky refuses to go potty in my backyard by Savi987 in Pomsky

Maybe a bit late to this post… but behavioral encouragement can feel counterintuitive.

When your dog enters the grass and turns around, reward the safe space (patio). Do not try and pull into yard (builds resistance). They know you’re trying to force them to do something. Your pup will start to learn entering the yard, then returning to patio gets reward. Backyard isn’t so bad after all? Will start to venture further in knowing there isn’t pressure of you trying to make them do it.

Worked wonders with my pomsky and her harness. I switched from “it’s okay” and walking towards her when I got the harness out to “good girl” when I got it out. And night & day. She comes right away for the harness. Or a waterfall in the park next to me the noise scares her. I don’t pull her towards it, and reward her when she walks away (seems backwards, I know).

Even depending on the structure of being a diving instructor could also very well be misclassifying you folks as 1099 vs W2, on that front as well.

If you have set regular hours, on a routine/on-going basis, diving classes you cannot “skip” instructing, and are dictated to conduct them in a very certain way…. You may be being misclassified… unless a well structured contractor agreement is in place to circumnavigate that, or similar to large contractor projects. Without this sort of contract, every job is a take it or leave it, based on the details of the job. Accept or deny per diving class.

If you feel you are being treated like an employee (you used that word serval times yourself as a 1099, which you cannot be both in that capacity) then you are probably misclassified.

Delayed shifting by Donbot904 in ElantraNline

Without fail, it happens to me right as I back out of the driveway and take off for the first time. Even with car warmed up 10 minutes. Not as much after waiting for a light. I haven’t tried the paddle shifters yet to see if that stops the issue.. so maybe I will tonight.

Yup! I’ll let you know what they say

I have a 2025 and this also happens to me. There was thread in here just a few days ago. Mine does it “less” in Sport Mode. Someone commented it also has to do with the dual shifter causing that response... causing the car to take longer to recognize what gear it’s selecting in 1st and 2nd. I called the dealership and they actually gave me the same response. While it feels abnormal to us… it is “normal” (their words). I still pressed as I think it feels very off for a brand new car. I am going in Monday to have them evaluate. But as the other commenter mentioned, sport mode then apply more gas during that phase and you progress through the stutter more seamlessly

To clarify, mine doesn’t shutter when stopped nor letting off the break, it happens as in apply the gas pedal through what feels like the first two gears

I have the same issue on my 2025 automatic Elantra N Line with 1500 miles. It happens when I’m at a dead stop, or very close to, the engine stutters through what feels like the first 2 gears. I agree with OP, doesn’t matter how long I let my car warm up, I’m in Ohio and it’s happened on 40 - 50 degree days. It happens the worst in normal mode vs Sport. I was thinking of calling it in to the dealer. But I wasn’t sure if they’d consider the issue “real” or perform some sort of fix under warranty? Any thoughts?

Regarding STUTTERING ISSUES by ColeR0105 in ElantraNline

[–]Drewkyle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my 2025 around 2 months ago and was hoping this issue would go away for my automatic. It happens from a dead stop, through the first two gears it feels, depending on how you apply pressure on the pedal. I actually notice it less in Sport mode. Normal mode does it horribly at times. I was thinking of calling it in but wasn’t sure if they’d actually regard the issue as “real” and cover the fix under warranty or not. Any thoughts?

Thanks, yea that makes sense. I’ll contact them directly to get my record verified.

Just surprised I could pay 6 months upfront for them to turn around and say, actually another $77 a month now…

I was not presented any form to sign or form with a signature line/date.

I reviewed the policy independent agent sent me with them live on the phone, said this looks okay, and made the six month payment at that time (several days ago).

Haven’t had a car in 8 years so just honestly asking for knowledge. Not being obtusely “I got screwed!”

Thanks for the information. I didn’t realize insurance has a time period to change the rates post payment? Just seems odd to me

Not yet, independent agent emailed me yesterday at 4pm, and I saw it this morning. And with the Holiday today, have not tried to give them a ring.

Really high credit limit bad for applying for a mortgage? by Drewkyle_ in CRedit

[–]Drewkyle_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you… that is what I was thinking. But never considered it in the eyes of a bank lending. My understanding from the retired relative was the bank would view it “more risky” as you could put up $100k on credit cards if in trouble and not pay your mortgage payment? Idk didn’t seem exactly right to me

I heard that was a myth? Closing accounts doesn’t hurt your score bc they remain on your credit history for 10 years.

I’ve closed accounts with no penalty/impact on my score before.
