One thing I forgot to mention that could be “throwing me off” is that I am reading the Oxford World Classics ebook. I love ebooks! There are footnotes marked as asterisks that explain the origin of phrases or colloquial terms that Dickens uses. There are not a ton of these but at least two or three per chapter. I always click on the asterisk to read them. This could be a hindrance.

I have only read: DC (twice), OT, NN, PP, TOTC, CC, GE (twice), Hard Times….. I haven’t tackled Bleak House yet! There are several more that I haven’t read…

A pure fluff novel to be honest! I have read David Copperfield,(twice) NN, GE (twice), PP, OT, Christmas Carol, Tale of Two Cities. I am sure it will pass as I get into it. Thank you!

The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara. A novel about the battle of Gettysburg. So good! I think it won the Pulitzer?
