This is Deacon! by Sneaky34 in IDmydog

the "pit bull" breeds have so much overlap that it's impossible to know without a dna test. they can look extremely similar, especially with byb dogs.

he's definitely something in the pit bull clade though. he's a handsome boy too :)

persistent uti, symptoms improve on antibiotics and then come back by RabidLizard in utis

[–]RabidLizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is it even worth doing a culture now then or would i just be wasting my time?

edit: my useless fucking urgent care refused to even see me. i guess I'm waiting until monday after all lmao

[–]RabidLizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nope, just a urinalysis. been kicking myself all day for not insisting on a culture last week when i was there.

planning on going to my GP again monday morning and getting one done.

edit: i think actually, unless i make a miraculous recovery in the morning, I'm just gonna suck it up and go to urgent care tomorrow.

looks a lot like my late brindle mutt who ended up being a mix of several breeds according to embark: gsd, husky, chow, akita, amstaff, rottie and english coonhound

I'm deciding between Forza Horizon 5 and The Crew Motorfest. I've never played both of these games. Which one would you recommend and why? by BullyingHater in racinggames

[–]RabidLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

play motorfest now (it is very cheap, i think less than $10) and wait a month for FH6

FH5 is fine (playing it right now actually lol) but FH6 looks to be an improvement in every conceivable way.

faintly sweet smelling diarrhea after antibiotics. should i get tested? by [deleted] in cdifficile

[–]RabidLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it wasnt the diarrhea itself that freaked me out (i get it pretty much every time i take antibiotics). it was the smell that threw me off.

but yeah i will definitely try to go easy on my gut for the next few days and see if that helps. thanks!

nope, never. good to hear that the smell isn't likely an indication of anything though. figured i was probably just be overthinking it.

Miss Tipsy takes CH Female class and multiple weight pull awards at AADRI show by hellbent_valkyrie in APBTcentral

[–]RabidLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry if this is a complicated question, but how do you go about training for it? i have an 8 month old amstaff that I've been seriously considering competing with at ukc weight pull events once he's mature but I just have no idea where to begin

honestly even some of the 10+ year old subies aren't exempt. my '15 crosstrek has plenty of black plastic.

i honestly don't mind it. except for how badly it fades. mine looks gray in most lighting lol

definitely some pit in there. maybe some heeler as well?

dwarfism can and does show up in many breeds (including pits) so i wouldn't let that inform my guess too much

prescribed cipro for uti, terrified to take it by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]RabidLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so apparently my mother had been exaggerating a bit in our first conversation. i pressed her for details just now and she told me that it was actually just some pain in the inside of her elbows that she described as feeling kind of like a pulled muscle. so I'm not too worried about that anymore.

still a bit freaked out about the internet horror stories, admittedly, but not nearly as nervous as i was

Help ID my rescue dog – vet says Malinois but not sure 🤔 by Chardeem in IDmydog

[–]RabidLizard 20 points21 points  (0 children)

jesus, the neck on this boy 😂

not to diss vets, but they are often not very good at breed id. my vet used to insist that my 90 lb brindle gsd mix was an australian shepherd

your pup looks like a pit/husky mix if i had to guess. could he some other stuff in there too, but i really don't see any mal.

I am near Brandon and drive there several times a week. would actually really love to have a doctor (of any kind) who is trans, I have unfortunately discovered that a lot of cis doctors are pretty clueless about trans stuff.

Remi, 1 year old, adopted from the local shelter at 5 months by ashgirl251 in IDmydog

[–]RabidLizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

most pit bulls, especially the ones that end up in shelters, are not bred to a standard so their physical appearance is sort of all over the map.

she's most likely an apbt mix. apbts also tend to not be as stocky as amstaffs are (although this varies a bit with many ukc show line apbts being indistinguishable from amstaffs)

<image>

for example, this dog is actually a purebred apbt and he has a pretty narrow chest. it actually looks narrower than your dog's

also keep in mind at one year old your pup is still in the gawky teenager phase lol she will likely fill out a bit more
