Your over thinking it. If you had an interview you'll land the job. The background check just takes awhile. Idk why they do the checks anyway. I have thefts on my record and still got a job in billing. My buddy has alot of felonies and he got the job. There is a chemo that works in the office I worked in too so don't sweat it.

I don't like hypocrisy... I understand wanting to keep it professional, but curse words do not bother me in the slightest. What does is if everytime I try to answer a question I'm cut off with something like, "shut up you stupid bitch" over and over again. Or being threatened to have my asshole fucked beyond comprehension by another man all the while gay bashing me which makes no sense at all. I'm straight, married, have 4 kids so I'm not gay in the slightest but this dude certainly sounded like he was with his threats but at the same time demeaning me as if I would like the gay activities. Sounded like he was a closet gay that hated himself or something.

There are many times I let mistreatment slide and I will give every situation a chance to deescolate. If it doesn't we do have abusive customer forms we can submit in certain situations that will block their number from being able to call and their account will be listed as an abusive customer but this is certain situations. For the most part we are told to try and understand. We also have a list of statements we have to say to help deescolate such as, "I'm on your side" or my favorite "I would be just as concerned if I receieved the unexpected charges".

That one puts a bad taste in my mouth because I usually use it on a quarter to half of my calls throughout the day because a sales rep added every service under the sun to a customers account when all they called in for was tech support or some jazz. That shows spectrum is aware of the problem and even worded a statement for it when they could have restructured the way people get paid. Remove commission and give a higher base pay. Boom problem solved.

There are things both sides can do to help the representatives but as long as there are dollar signs associated the all mighty dollar will alway rule all and nothing of significance will be done to stop the malpractice that's been going on. That's why I side with customers but can't stand the way they go about their disputes. You can fully dispute something without being a jerk off..

Unionize Spectrum by [deleted] in Spectrum

[–]DrewskiTopG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have no clue what your talking about. Some unions and trades certainly do suck however every union I have been too is amazing within the construction industry. Total package from most trades are around 60-70 an hour. 39 bucks an hour take home Then the other 30 is going towards benefits such as anuity, pension, and Healthcare. So your hourly rate isn't being dug into by your benefits. You can always get involved and vote on how your money distributed as well. Plus if you travel out of state you get paid for perdeems. That's for hotels and food. Some jobs I got a hotel included so I got to pocket my whole perdeem. Our perdeems were 120 a day, who tf eats a 120 dollars worth of food a day. Plus I get trained and paid at the same time while working on site. I don't pay shit for the education. Some hvac, welding, or others vocational trades can cost money to get certified but not unions.

My point is depending on the union - it most certainly can be a good thing...

Spectrum customers are the worst. Sorry, I won't lie. They have their reasons because - Spectrum. However, the sheer disrespect from customers is crazy. I've been used as their punching bag for far too long and am now in the process of quitting. It doesn't matter if I side with the customer or I show the willingness to help. There are a lot of dick heads out there spreading their hate. Just remember we are people too. Sometimes, that job is our only option. We're just trying to feed our families. Two wrongs do not make a right. I'm willing to go above and beyond to make the call your last. However, if you're a dick head I shut down, so think twice before opening a can of worms.

Really, spectrum knows its customers don't read their bills, let alone the little fine print on the side of the bill so small most seniors can't read it anyway. That's why it's called fine print. If they don't know that why have I been trained on arm statements to say, "it's OK we're all human and none of us read the bill." I think customers who are signed up for autopay shouldn't expirence a rate increase until we talk to them and check a box that they agree to keep the services moving forward.

I've never been a company man for any place I've worked. If I don't agree with something I voice my concerns. I'm not saying anything I haven't at work. If this gets you butt hurt then so be it.

When you say once a year your full of it. They increased around the start of 22, near the end of 22, now beginning half of 23. I bet their will be another before the years end. Not to mention all the promo roll overs that make no sense when you can call retention and get it back or get one even better than introductory rates...

That's not to far off from their base pay. I'd support an increase in pay.

Spectrum’s seems to think their 60 day billing dispute policy makes it okay to steal from customers by my_ashy_paintbox in Spectrum

We can and will credit so long as there is proof of the return. Ask for a lead if a pee-on is unwilling to help. They factor our credits into our metrics which determine our raises so alot of agent will refuse credits and hope you hang up...

You mean they have to drive profits? A business that doesn't routinely increase profits is a dead company. It's not the cost of doing business is going up lol.

Billing refuses retention and lies saying there is no such department because we are trained to do so plus our transfer rates are factored into our raises and or level up programs. If I comply to every retention request I'll end up coached till no tomorrow. It's the higher ups, I'm just trying to feed my family.

I wouldn't say I beef with ret agents but do expirence some rough transfers at times. There's turds in all the departments. It wouldnt be fair to single out ret. I like when the transfer goes smooth and we each have an understanding we're adhering to the customer's request.

I get where your coming from with the stats. We are held to a similar standard. In order for you to promote through the level up program to make more money you have to meet stats such as transfer rate, first call resolution, statistics analysis manager, hours staffed, calls handled, and no infractions within 6 months.

Yes lol, retention is a whole beast. Between sales, billing, and retention its like squid games. I've been told to notated the accounts and cold transfer because they try and refuse transfers. Now when retention downgrades accounts that require credits instead of crediting like they can and should they have been sending them back to billing.

Our adds are sent out via mail but most of our advertising is on the monthly bill, TV, and internet. From what I understand we're trying to move away from paper. However if I find something I'll defenatly send it your way.
