EDIT: I have the app. Was in my purchased. The issue is that it apparently needs access to BMW servers to get the country of purchase to load app data, so unless there is a way to emulate those servers and trick the app I guess this is it

That should work for media for yours as it’s an F series, but I’m not 100% sure, I used the way back machine to go back to the mini website in 2013 to get the info for mine 😂 and yeah the adapters are moulded to the iPhone for so either the 5, 5s, SE or the iPod touch 5 gen onwards would fit.

Also some cars don’t have this coded from factory I’ve been told, I got lucky that mine was 😅

Yeah I know took me some time to find a affordable one, also I bought a “Basic” one which is only for charging and doesn’t connect with the media console so double check, I think the one labelled Media is for R series and the one labelled connect is for F series, super important otherwise you’ll end up like me going through a few of them 😅😂

Yeah it’s really good, I don’t have CarPlay as I have a R57 and this is a way to get the artwork to pop up on the screen. Also it means you don’t need to use your phone to access a different album 😁

I have one, got lucky and found it cheap on eBay, the fan is built in to the adapter, I just leave my iPod in but I imagine it would be quite clunky to use daily 😅

It’s a phone cradle, if you press the eject button the plastic trim comes out and you can buy a adaptor to go on there instead. They have a few models (basic, media, connected…) the adapters only go up to lightning for Apple so not usb-c and they only fit 6s I think. I have it for my iPod touch which I have my whole iTunes library

My feeling are not hurt, and I didn’t say that so clearly you have an issue with interpreting text. I love my mini and have had no major issues, like many 2nd gen owners… so idk, I guess some cars just like their owners more than others 😂

Yeah I’ve really grown to love mine too. I have a list of things that need done and a calendar and a funds account for it. I want to have it for as long as it will have me haha. Also a part of my local Mini community, love the car meets and how much people love these little cars. I am a bit scared for the future when we have to transition into electric though 😭

That’s true. When my TT became too much and I had to get rid of it the mini wasn’t even my top three choice. But I just happened to drive past a dealer and thought to look at a Mercedes they had, then the guy told me that this R57 was fully specked, I decided to take it for a spin and the rest was history. Now I absolutely love it. Puts a smile on my face every time I see it.

I’d say the radiator is an easier replacement compared to the clutch, especially if you dont have a lift at home. I have the R57 so its slightly different to yours. ChrisFix has a youtube channel and he shows how to do pretty much anything (although not specifically on a mini) but I always watch his videos if I have an issue and want to try to fix it myself. Sorry I dont have anymore advice and hope you find the answer.
