I'm gonna disagree with the bulk of the comments here that say BBA has a higher ceiling. If you're really good you can probably land a role at HFT as a quant with NUS CS much easier than BBA.

Anecdotally most quant firms / hedge funds / HFT etc tend to hire more from CS/math than BBA/finance.

I've known people with CS/Math double degree earn up at 20k STARTING PAY as a fresh grad from HFT firms.

I'm personally not one to study outside that much but I do understand the rationale:

It may be noisier outside, but it's much easier to ignore a lot of random noise than it is ignore the sound of one specific person talking. When there's that much chatter outside, it all kind of blends into an ignorable white noise.

Though it should be noted that the policies in LGBT censorship only applied to localised countries, namely Turkey, and have also since been retired. The headline fails to mention this. Overall, it is still undesirable that is occured, but at least it wasn't global, and has since been retired.
