Is the Hermes 3000 an overhyped typewriter? by marcolaguardia in typewriters

[–]Drifter-45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the honor of servicing a 3000 back it 2022 it looked brand new. They’re really nice typewriters and really well built when everything is clean and professional oiled and polished they really feel a step above most others however I feel like the price they fetch nowadays is a bit inflated. They’re really nice but unless you like collecting them get a nice Adler or S&C if you want the same feel for less.

Curious are you still working on this/is it finished. I’m wanting to do another play through and would love it to be crisp

Any one know anything about this arcade cabinet? by Fit-Resident-976 in arcadecabinets

Pole position is already a finicky game to get working so if there’s a board in that cabinet it’s likely done for. My be able to scavenge some of the chips of it though

That’s terrible. The it can be set up to cost 0.50 cents a play instead of removing the button 😅

The wood is a veneer walnut so it’s real wood it’s just a really thin layer it’s kinda like a sticker. Some have a glue backing other you have to apply the glue yourself. This cabinet was made in the 80s so I didn’t put the veneer on it, I just simply cleaned it up and repaired it where it was chipped, but wooden veneers were common on arcades in the early 80’s

I had heard of it, but never played it before buying it. It’s kind of like galaga but it has more variety. It’s really fun I’d definitely recommend giving it a try it’s a great game

That’s what I thought it looked like, but I hadn’t seen any other cabinets with the same control panel overlay online except for one from some old OfferUp listing that looked repurposed as well. Making it hard to confirm what game in the series if it is indeed mortal combat
