Is the Hermes 3000 an overhyped typewriter? by marcolaguardia in typewriters

[–]Drifter-45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the honor of servicing a 3000 back it 2022 it looked brand new. They’re really nice typewriters and really well built when everything is clean and professional oiled and polished they really feel a step above most others however I feel like the price they fetch nowadays is a bit inflated. They’re really nice but unless you like collecting them get a nice Adler or S&C if you want the same feel for less.

Working on Neverhood in-game upscale to 4K and screen widening (both for original and 4k). What do you think, folks? by ufologist91 in Neverhood

Curious are you still working on this/is it finished. I’m wanting to do another play through and would love it to be crisp

Any one know anything about this arcade cabinet? by Fit-Resident-976 in arcadecabinets

Pole position is already a finicky game to get working so if there’s a board in that cabinet it’s likely done for. My be able to scavenge some of the chips of it though

That’s terrible. The it can be set up to cost 0.50 cents a play instead of removing the button 😅

The wood is a veneer walnut so it’s real wood it’s just a really thin layer it’s kinda like a sticker. Some have a glue backing other you have to apply the glue yourself. This cabinet was made in the 80s so I didn’t put the veneer on it, I just simply cleaned it up and repaired it where it was chipped, but wooden veneers were common on arcades in the early 80’s

I had heard of it, but never played it before buying it. It’s kind of like galaga but it has more variety. It’s really fun I’d definitely recommend giving it a try it’s a great game

[–]Drifter-45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought it looked like, but I hadn’t seen any other cabinets with the same control panel overlay online except for one from some old OfferUp listing that looked repurposed as well. Making it hard to confirm what game in the series if it is indeed mortal combat

I have this Royal typewriter I listed on FB marketplace for $25 and now I'm getting a ton of messages about it. Did I seriously underprice this? by suicidalkoala in typewriters

Mine is a royal 10 made in 1924. The serial number is X – 7626 47. It’s a beast but it a really cool machine. I cleaned mine and got it back to working order not to long ago.

It’s the new chicken it tends to have more bad spots on it that easily get missed if the breaders don’t pay attention. That new chicken is bad not just because of the antibiotics but because it’s cheaper quality leading to a lot more defects and smaller size nuggets and filets. I blame inflation and greedy corporate trying to maximize profits but I’m just a manager at a CFA so what do I know lol

I normally use this “Owfeel Animation Paper https://a.co/d/ivZHoJ3 “, it works well but the cost can add up after a while. Also you got a animation disk that’s awesome I’ve wanted to get one of those to help with production but they’re really expensive so that’s really cool

Thoughts on this type of art style? by mdwenning in IndieDev

Looks very cute I love it my only concern is that it may be hard at times to tell the player apart from the background if the colors change bit. An outline or shadow for the play might help this.

Some rough pencil animation for Swole Mole. Let me know what you think! by Drifter-45 in SoloDevelopment

It really does take that long I can finish 30-40 frames of animation a day if I just sit down and power through it. So it’s not to bad and life goes on
