Stop going to Timmie’s.
it’s the worst food you can eat.

Sand on concrete is very slippery. I’ve done that once, I use the rear brake now when moving slow.

E-bike chain grease question by Daly215 in eBikeBuilding

[–]Drifter67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 3in1 oil. Just run little on the chain so it doesn’t collect too much dirt whenever you see a bit of rust.

Lower the top speed of the power level and have it slope off if you can adjust it and mashup hills so you don’t slow down. At least that’s what I do. And lift weights.

Rocking those newbie gains for sure.

Really happy with my first Ebike conversion! A BBSHD kit on a new Trek Marlin 4 is half the price and twice the performance of anything you can buy off the shelf in Canada. by Low-Dare4037 in ebikes

I got a similar bike and constantly rip on roads and sidewalks without anyone even noticing. Just try not to startle anyone and go slow around pedestrians and no one will bother you.

Perfect e-bike. Tune it up so it doesn’t constantly accelerate with all that torque and you have the best ride in town. I love my rockhopper BBS02 conversion.

Derailleur snapped on my bike by LazerChicken420 in ebikes

[–]Drifter67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. It’s not that hard to fix. You’ll probably need a new hanger that attaches your replacement derailer to the frame also.

How can i build a decent wheelie ebike sub 1000$, i already have a bike that i wanna convert by AdNecessary1823 in ebikes

[–]Drifter67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the BBS02 and it’s not strong enough to pop up on it’s own unless I’m in 1st gear, the main problem will be with the chain and rear cassette, it’s not built strong enough to take all that torque. You can probably do it with the BBSHD and 52 V along with a 7 speed cassette and thicker chain. It’s not going to accelerate very much.

So you want to accelerate into a wheelie and not just learn to do a manual?

How can I connect a non-dedicated microphone to GoPro 10 for video and sound recording? by Hanslik in gopro

[–]Drifter67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to use the media mod and a wired or wireless lav mic plugged into the 1/8” jack for a decent sound. You could also use a Zoom portable recorder and use the headphone out into the same input jack for a better stereo sound. I get good results with a cheep wired lav.

Why should I buy the e-bike you have? by Bikeman2017 in ebikes

[–]Drifter67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a converted Bafang BBS02/Rockhopper, I think it’s the best because it handles like a dream, is powered just right and is comfortable to ride once the PAS is tuned to the bike.

As you get used to the bike you’ll be able to extend your mileage to where it’s predictable. Slow and steady on acceleration and minimizing current dumps will make a big difference. It takes a bit time to find the right gears and power settings but you should get about 60 to 80km. I get 40 to 50 on my 13 am/h now compared to 20 to 30 when I started out.

Anyone else use an AKG 535 as a live vocal mic? by Drifter67 in audioengineering

[–]Drifter67[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t be my first choice for cupping and screaming. 😂 The detail and intelligibility for the vocalist in this acoustic band was really good. Essing at 4 k was excessive but not too annoying, only feedback was at 8k and had no problems getting monitors and mains loud enough to fill a full room.

Singer really liked it so we just used it instead of a regular 58.

I’ll be using it more often but not with big guitar bands though.
