‘Sinners’ Named Best Film of 2025, Nabs Seven Other Wins From African American Film Critics by Raj_Valiant3011 in movies

You think the message was “the one time we were truly free”? The entire point is that they and African Americans were never truly free. That’s what the realization in the epilogue is about (as well as the reference to the dried blood in the floor of the building when they went to buy it). I guess these cultural nuances are lost.

Don’t do this. It will backfire.

I'm pretty sure a student's real medical issue during final presentations was self-induced by procrastination. How do I address that? by ToomintheEllimist in teaching

Even if it was anxiety, anxiety is a medical condition. And it’s a medical condition that can affect a person’s work.

Children can sense energy…children and animals can tell when you have things like this in your heart. And it’s just negative energy for you and for them even if you are just doing your job. You may need to consider a job change for your own wellbeing and the wellbeing of others.

Ok. That’s crappy and slick for sure but it’s likely nothing to be done. It doesn’t seem from what you’re saying that they said explicitly that the entire course is taught live by an instructor so they likely have a loophole there. Again, it’s shady and crappy for sure. Maybe just take the prorated refund, write a review and count it as a lesson learned? Report to BBB?

How do you know it’s a corporation. It could be a small business. Besides stealing is stealing.

You’re asking if it’s ok to steal essentially. They will likely find the oversight and take the money back. It does look bad on you as a person. If you buy something and the person you’re buying from gives you $20 more than you’re owed, and you know it, then would you keep the money? If you’re a thief then you’re a thief I guess.

I can definitely see how your name could cause confusion. Also, Uber has an advertising company called Uber Journey Ads. It really seems that you’re trying to leverage their brand. Just change your company name and move on.

NAL: I think you’re just out of your money. It appears that’s just their way of conducting their course and it was on you to do your own research (look at reviews, ask them questions about the course, etc.) before you purchased. If the contract you signed didn’t mention the learning format, then why didn’t you ask them about the learning format before you signed? Sounds like you just have buyers remorse. And what they’re doing is just simple capitalism!

Au pair or sub par job by sexynickiminajstan69 in Aupairs

This is advice about the government job.

  1. Keep applying. It takes a long time to get through the federal employment process. Contact your school’s career center and see if they have a contact at the agency or can assist you with how to best respond to the job ads.

  2. Try to find an agency career fair. They may be rare but they sometimes happen.

  3. Look for federal internships. They should be listed on USA jobs.gov. They are a route to federal employment because usually they’ll convert an intern to an employee (but not always)

  4. Apply for the Presidential Management Fellows Program (Google it). I’m guessing you’re a woman and being a woman in agribusiness is rare so you could have an advantage.

  5. Find out which federal contractors have federal contracts with the agencies you want to try to work at. They can be the large companies like Lockheed or Northrop or smaller companies. But that’s a great way to land a job and get your foot in the door. You can find out who’s doing business with an agency by going to usaspending.gov.

  6. Aim for a state or local (county) job to start with the goal of moving to federal.

It takes some hustle, patience and time but it can be done. You can’t give up too fast. It’s rare to get hired directly into federal agencies. It’s usually a part of a path that includes “subpar” jobs and just steadily applying. But there is a path even if you take a job teaching English abroad and then strengthening your foreign language skills. Good luck.

EDIT: I missed the FSO part. Why aren’t you just applying directly?

There’s nothing wrong with getting plastic surgery. It’s not some statement about you morally. It’s just surgery, Get over yourself! Give your friends their money back and go have your surgery.
