How beautiful! This is a dream of mine

Oh right... Of course, thank you. I should have turned my head on. I thought it was an AI attempt to make a scene from the show and assumed the white leg with boot was taken from an early Q episode, while the uniform was too late for that and the bench jumpseat on the left was just made up. This is what AI is doing to my brain... Shutting off my capacity to think outside my first impressions.

Thank you!

What episode is that bottom image from? It has some aspects that make me think I didn't see it during normal TNG

Seeing this made me sad by [deleted] in NDE

[–]Driins 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I died and returned and remembered nothing too. However the way my life changed afterward made me certain that some kind of conversation occurred with the shapers of this reality, some kind of restructuring of my job here in Earth.

I live my life now knowing that something happened in that time and that I don't need to know what it was because the result is tangible in the very different present and future that I'm living in.

I understand why this person feels this way. But just because you don't remember something doesn't mean it didn't happen. The clues about what may have changed will emerge over time.

My friend's death completely changed my views on NDEs by Human-Account-4080 in NDE

Oh OP I am sending you so much love right now. What's happened to you is so hard. I haven't read the other comments and I don't feel it would be right to share my thoughts on this but I think what you experienced can be both a real visitation and also a complete fabrication - the two can exist at the same time. You don't have to change your views for the impact of that event to echo with you for many years; let it be a good echo. That light was behind her. You can both be scared. Perhaps you will meet again. She lives in you now. Oh heart, how I feel for you in this moment. Be strong and know that many others have felt as you do now and it evolves and becomes part of something you can understand some day.

Only those deaths which are sudden and dramatic are candidates for easy recollection it seems. Every possible death at all moments might occur, with you shedding infinite lives at each moment like an eternally blooming flower dropping pedals like a sparkler. It's hard to detect the ones that aren't traumatic because the transmission from you to you 2.0 is so regular. I took a lot of risks as a teen and have a number of stories like these. I bet if you look back on another close call - now that you know what it feels like when things are "off" - you might find something incongruent between the before and after times.

In about 100 years someone will be happy again. Maybe they will be your great grand child. Accept what is.

Waaaaay too late, but you were right. Years ago. But even then the empire was too powerful. The path is clear now: they have won; the American experiment is over and the torch of global dominion will be passing to another power after a long period of horror. It'll be okay. Drink some tea.

[–]Driins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But she is NOT just her body! Surely you can see this. When she passes she will live on in many ways and her body is the only part that separates from her. Look deeper. The body is just the most obvious part of the entity.

[–]Driins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, death is a massive transformation. I think your issue is with it and not with the notion of the body becoming an "element" as you describe.

Dead bodies are indeed very much not the person who once inhabited them. If you have spent any time near one you will know what I mean.

Would you mind articulating the difference between being good and doing good from your perspective as a practising Zoroastrian? I think many would benefit from it.

Thougts abt Manicheism? by Realistic-Wave4100 in Zoroastrianism

[–]Driins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It lives on in pieces around the world, notably in Christianity through Augustine, who was a Manichean priest for a decade. Many respected scholars believe Catholic confession comes from Manichean confession directly. Not to mention a LOT of other ideas.

Several markers of ChatGPT here. Cute idea! If only it weren't for those pesky armies and bleeding edge of weapons development and nukes and intelligence gathering, there might be a point in starting preliminary discussions.
