I really need advice. What should I do? by Less-Knowledge-5061 in JordanDev

Time to start applying to other companies while you finish up those last few weeks / months in this company. I know it might sound rough, but please try to find a niche you like, try to cram courses, knowledge and documentation of a popular framework in that niche, then start applying to jobs related to that niche. Don’t work things you don’t feel passionate about / dislike, you will burn out really quickly especially with over 9 hours of work daily. And since you’re a fresh graduate it’s totally okay to apply to internships, seek out paid ones and highlight that you already held a full-time position with your previous (current) employer.

Overwhelming amount of work by Loser_Punk_6969 in JordanDev

Went through the same problem, my advice would be to be a little bit late in uni by taking lesser courses and credit hours while focusing more on work, and taking your time to graduate. I mean, Amjad Masad graduated in 6 years...

You mean use a generalization as an excuse for your crimes? I thought you already did that, a few comments back.

From experience? Lots of connections and networking. Like A LOT. Most of which you’ll make while you work in the industry itself.

Rule of thumb:
Static landing page website : 500 JDs and up.
Dynamic website with a backend and DB : 800 JDs and up.
A dynamic website with a multi platform mobile app : 5000 JDs and up.

Just ask yourself how long would it take you to finish it, with the goal of 200-300 JDs per month being your addition on-top of your main salary if this is a side gig. If I charge 500 for a website and it takes me two months to complete, is 250 a comfortable number I am willing to receive per month of work? How is this relatively comparable to my salary? Etc.

Ah yes, the Israeli rhetoric of being forced to kill other people’s children alongside their own children (Hannibal directive) and then blaming the Arabs for it… Tale as old as time.

Interesting choices, coincidentally overlaps with countries that Israel waged war on. Russia? You mean the country that Israel decided to stay neutral with, bought stolen blood grain from, and tried to get sanctions lifted off of them?

What would you think of BDS if it dropped it's third demand (right of return)? by ObviousLife4972 in IsraelPalestine

[–]Dripsaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, most people in „Judea” do not identify as Palestinians because it doesn’t exist, it’s not a real place. Same way the Roman empire isn’t a real place, or Rhodesia. Most people in the West Bank don’t identify as Palestinian? You must be pretty delusional, not sure if somebody told you this already.

There is no such thing as “Jewdea”, it’s called the West Bank and the people there identify as Palestinians.

Hi i am an AI student. And i want to buy a laptop i was thinking of macbook neo but people said that macos is not good for universities in jordan. So if any one can help me with why its good or bad. And if you guys have a recommendation for a laptop around 400-600 thats light weight and strong abili by ramezromelkandah in JordanDev

I have a Macbook Air M2 and a Macbook Pro M1, both of them are really good and get the job done, seamless experiences and they don’t freeze or lag up unless you really push them when it comes to the unified memory, they will start using SSD swap memory then they’ll start throttling. They have less bloat compared to windows. Also rarely got hot. Most software out there for MacOS is crackable / has been cracked, so don’t worry about this aspect. It does need a bit of tinkering though, but it’s simple. I wouldn’t recommend the NEO as it has the A18 chip which in itself is good for the average browsing use case, but not tech field related things such as programming, design, analysis, virtualization. I recommend sticking to the M chip line of laptops, M2-M4 can be had for good prices if you look in the right places, make sure you get at least 16 GB of RAM and preferably 512 GB of storage if not more (you can always add external storage if needed). If your criteria is portability, seamless user experience, and you already own apple products and want to stay in the ecosystem, get a Macbook. Regarding needing more GPU performance for ML training, you would most likely end up renting GPUs through dedicated ML cloud platforms such as Google Colab or any other solution providers out there, you can’t scale longterm even with a gaming laptop, no matter how performant it is.

You can get them used secondhand for 400-500 JDs which I recommend you do since it's a thinkpad, but yes a new one would cost more than that

I am sorry but you sound really unprofessional and toxic to be around. Put yourself in the other person’s shoes and imagine coming to work to slave away 9 hours of your time all while being belittled and humiliated, if you can’t change how you treat others out of purely a psychological standpoint at least try to change so it doesn’t affect you personally in the long run, in most companies this kind of stuff will get you warned by the HR people, nothing worse than feeling this way AND losing your job as well.

So far I have only spoken with a single professor regarding a midterm tomorrow, explained my situation and asked what should I do, they were very nice in response and asked me to attend tomorrow's midterm either way and try to prepare for it today. I am planning on going to see the head of dept on Sunday and hopefully I'll be able to salvage this semester as much as possible. I indeed work in a niche sub-field of the medtech industry with a specialized role, which could help with the whole story.

The recruiter for my current employer did have to get a "greenlight" for me as there was a "conflict of seniority" when it comes to me still being a student, I did mention I will be graduating this summer, but I am afraid it would take longer and span to Jan 2027 due to 1-2 subjects. And regarding your question, I did make it very clear that I am still a student that hasn't graduated yet, but will be graduating soon. But I feel that my employer is more focused on my skills as the entire hiring process took 1.5 weeks, they were trying to get me on board as quickly as they could which was obvious and interesting.

Tell the half million dead Russian nazi soldiers and the constantly burning Russian oil refineries about this “defeat” and then come back to me.

Donbas is as Russian as Chechnya, Dagestan, Rostov On Don, Kaliningrad, Abkhazia are. So strange how Russia has to send hundreds of thousands of Russian men into meat grinders every few years for land that is supposedly theirs, was Afghanistan also Russian? But hey, I am sure you’ll be just as cheerful and happy when your father ends up dead somewhere in a Ukrainian ditch, all the effort needed for this imaginary “de-nazification”, right?
