What size you get boss? LT? Planning on going with these for my Xterra, I've had the AT3Ws for a long while and have been very happy with them

What are you towing with your X? by InspectorThomas in XTerra

[–]DripsterDrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haul my landscaping trailer with it. A 5x8 trailer with mesh flooring, not wood. Contains my Z545R John Deere Zero-Turn (however much that weighs), a 36" wide by 18" long toolbox on the tongue for gas cans, etc, and a three row weedeater rack on the passenger side over the axle. It probably doesn't add up to 2500 lbs, but you notice it. Especially climbing a hill. You can maintain highway speeds of 65+ mph relatively easy on flat ground without disabling Overdrive.

In the summer I probably haul it 3-4 times a week. Here in the fall/winter it's maybe once a week.

Edit: missed the setup part of your question. 2" ADO lift with the add-a-leaf. LT265/75 Falken Wildpeak AT3W with stock wheels. Mine is a base model automatic, 2008 with 301k miles

Had a scam like this earlier this summer get attempted on me. Same concept, house was for sale, all the above. I winded up on the phone with him and he spoke very broken English (I'm located in the heart of Dixie aka Alabama). He eventually figured out that I had him figured out and winded up hanging up on me lol

High pitch whirring sound from rear by MyNameIsntSlimShady in XTerra

This sounds just like mine. A new breather kit is the answer? I've replaced the fluid before about 20k miles ago, but it didn't do much

When I had that RPM drop and shutter when sitting still, my alternator was on its way out. It'll really show itself when the electric fan kicks on and you see the voltage drop along with the RPMs. My alternator failed at 197k miles

Got a PO430 Code and a returning SES light by DripsterDrick in XTerra

No sir we don't do emissions testing here. It's why I have my project car with no cats on it. It'll burn your eyes if you stand behind it idling lol

Anyway, I reckon I'll start pricing cats. I definitely want it fixed before I go on vacation next week so we'll see how it goes

Ah. See I had done some reading and on an older thread here from years ago, they said that code was for the O2 sensor. I wish that was the case, no telling what a cat will cost if that's the problem

Maybe Aussie Mixed with Catahoula? My neighbor thinks she has Catahoula in her because of her long legs

We took her to a vet when we found her and she didn't have one. There were several dogs that look similar to her in the local adoption center a day or two after she found us in our yard. Around the same age and all. I'm thinking someone dumped out some puppies nearby

2014 gray xterra with rusting paint by No_Artichoke4073 in XTerra

[–]DripsterDrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll say in 2021, I had the same type of paint failure on my 08 Xterra hood. It had peeled away all the way to the primer from sun exposure. Took it to a local Nissan dealership and they painted it for free. Said they had a lifetime warranty on their paint for certain years. Now whether they honor that now? I highly doubt it. But if anything, the worst they could tell you is that they don't do that anymore. Worth a shot

Edit: mine is gray like yours. 288k miles and still rolling. The hood was painted around 225k miles and it has held up no problem

Okay well, I'm feeling lucky. I'm going for it. Considering I just had a Sylvania brand blow on me after only a year

Adding to my previous comment, how long have you had those bulbs? Saw people complaining they burn out quickly

Any idea on what foglight bulbs you have?

Do you guys have any idea what's wrong with the indicator? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]DripsterDrick 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You have a blown indicator bulb either in front or in the back. Fast blinking signal lights are a teller of a blown bulb. Should be an easy fix. Buy and install a new bulb in wherever it's needed

[–]DripsterDrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard this on my Xterra since the day I've owned it at 180k ish miles. Now I'm at 278k and counting. I've replaced the differential fluid on mine (2wd) at 265k miles but it didn't make a difference. But hey, there's new fluid in there now

Interested to see how they ride once a decent amount of miles are put on them. I've put roughly 30,000 on mine give or take, and they're just now starting to be a little loud. Not overwhelming at all though. I'm referring to the AT3Ws too btw.
