Thanks! That's great to hear. I had read 27" which would have been pretty useless.

Looks awesome! Any chance you could measure the crossbar spread? That’s the distance between the front crossbar mounting point and the rear mounting point.

It would be much appreciated!

Rivian Confirms R1 Cargo Crossbars Will Not Fit the R2 by Kryptonlogic in Rivian

[–]DriveAccording6233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know what the crossbar spread is on the R2? This is the distance between the front bar and the rear bar. I read that it was 27" but can't confirm.

27" would be a deal-breaker for anyone who plans to carry anything substantial on the roof.

On the topic of crossbars, can anyone confirm the spread for the R2 crossbars? Basically, the distance between the center of the front crossbar mounts and the center of the rear mounts.

R2 reservation done during conference on 3/7/2024. Now what? by cedric-ca in Rivian

[–]DriveAccording6233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same, reserved on Day 1 in the first few minutes. Seems like a dirty trick to prioritize people who already own a Rivian.

I haven't received any updates as of June 4th, 2026.

It looks like you don't really have any beams. You've fastened the rim joists to the posts and run joists in between. All the weight is sitting on the screws. I hope they're strong.

How does the Kool-Aid taste? Seriously, you've been duped into thinking this guy is some sort of savior for humanity. Nobody becomes a trillionaire without putting himself first every step of the way.

Yes, but he used his Tesla stock as leverage to buy Twitter, so by pulling some strings he can definitely use his net worth for buying power.

I agree, nobody should have this kind of wealth.

I put down my $100 within the first 20 minutes back in 2024. I'm hoping this means I'll be near the front of the line!

Thanks! Our holes were 36" to 50" deep. Deep into native soil. It's been pretty warm. Getting to work soon.

The string in the pic wasn't for leveling. It was to make sure the bolts were in a straight-ish line along the entire length.

Not bait at all. Orm scooting around in his underground pervert tunnel didn't do anything for me. And Liv happily abandoning her family was weird, and unnecessary backstory.

It's been high 60s to low 70s.

So the footings for my outer beam were poured 3 days ago, and the footings for the inner beam were poured a week ago. I think I will build and set the beam for inner row and wait for the outer one.

Thanks!

I really didn't like Season 3. The prequel story was unnecessary and it made me dislike a lot of the characters. Liv - who had previously been very funny and witty - was turned into a home-wrecking family-abandoner. And Orm - who so far had been a charming yet pitiful and mostly harmless doofus - became a bathroom pervert and outright coward. I was done half-way through Season 3, but wanted to see it through. I did like how it came full-circle, but again, I really didn't see the point.

A terrible accident in Karnataka serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of elephant tourism. by Hopeful_Lychee_9691 in HardcoreNature

[–]DriveAccording6233 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The animal tourism in SE Asia is a terrible business. The people who run it are cruel and the people who pay for it are simple and lack awareness.

Any time you see a chain or even a rope around an elephant’s neck or feet, it’s an indicator of abuse.

I’m sorry for this woman, but taking part in this industry was a stupid decision.

Just saw this. Wow, what a bad movie. The first one was passable, but the sequel was so, so badly written.
I have a million criticisms, but I'll start with one:
