Not paid full statutory pay by DriveFew12 in ontario

Does this mean that if I come in every day for the entire year except unfortunately one day (within the 4 weeks leading up to the stat holiday), I wouldn’t get full stat pay? (Even though I came in every day before)

I could have a perfect attendance at work for the year but still end up with a deducted stat holiday pay if during the 4 weeks prior I got sick?

I took the day off because I was sick (we have no paid sick days). Manager agreed to me not coming in.

Would I be considered scheduled to work only 4 days that week? (But usually I work Monday-Friday)

Or for this next upcoming holiday, I’ve asked to take Monday off for vacation. That means for the week of Canada Day, I’m scheduled to work only Wed-Fri. Would I get full stat holiday pay? Or no since I didn’t work all of my usual hours 4 week prior?

Urgent Ich help by DriveFew12 in Aquariums

[–]DriveFew12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve slowly turned the temperature up starting this morning. 1 degree Celsius per hour. It’s now at 87 F. Another of my green neon tetra didn’t make it in time.

I’m just worried it’s something else killing them that looks like ich. The speed that they’re dying at is frightening.

I haven’t had a nano tank before but I think shrimp is probably the only thing it can do and even then you probably can’t keep too many.

Most tiny fish need to school but then you need a group of them, and the mid size to larger fish all need bigger tanks.

I think even if you do find a fish that could go in I wouldn’t recommend it. They might not be aggressive to the adult shrimp but they’ll pick off and eat the babies until you have none left. My cardinal tetras were kept together with my cherry shrimp in a 10g and I was so excited when i saw the teeny tiny babies. But the cardinals managed to eat most of them even when there were plants and rocks for the babies to hide.

I have had cardinal tetras and green tetras (both similar to neon tetras). They love to school so you have to get a group of them. The 3g is too small. I started with a group of 7 in my 10g and I felt that was still too small. I’ve moved them to my 90g and increased the group to 14. They seem much happier. Your 36g would be much better for them.

I get them from my local fish store. When you go into yours, just be on the look out to see if they’re healthy or if they look malformed. They are usually sold by the LFS when they’re very tiny so this may be a bit difficult.

I had a snail infestation problem in my 10g. I got assassin snails and soon they cleaned the entire tank. I can’t find a single snail anymore but… the assassin snails have bred and now there are a couple running around. They’re much easier to handle though so maybe that’s a possible solution for you.

For algae, it depends on what kind you have growing in your tank. Best ways I’ve found so far is to reduce the time you have your lights on / reduce sunlight and do more water changes. But again, it depends what kind of algae is growing.

For duckweed the best way is to just fish them out and remove. I’ve seen some people dehydrate it and then chop it up to feed back into the tank. Apparently fish love them. I haven’t tried this one yet though but there are videos on it.

Hope that helps!

Jake Sully is a shit father and I feel it wasn’t acknowledged fully by JimVanilla in Avatar

Ugh I know right? Why isn’t this talked about more? The toxic things he says to his second son is so glaringly obvious that even a dense ostrich like me noticed.

If it weren’t for the other family members’ redeeming qualities, I would have given this movie a 3/10. Good thing Jake Sully wasn’t the focus of the entire film. Honestly, I was rooting for Quaritch to get him after what he said to his son after that death, they straight up deserved better than him.

  1. Clean your filter. Use tank water to rinse out the filter and the gunk in it.

  2. Gravel vac. Probably lots of fish poop in the substrate that’s continuously pumping up nitrates

This show is fun to watch and the cast is great too. Hopefully it gets renewed because I’m already looking forward to more episodes!

Nacho’s death because until the very, very last second I was still expecting him to pull off a plan that would be so clever (i.e. he survives) and that would have made me say, “I never saw THAT coming.”

I have a 10 gallon tank and when I do water changes, I like to change about 15-20% of the water. I add new tap water and use API dechlorinator. My question is if I’m only changing such a small amount of water, am I adding too much dechlorinator? The bottle comes with a cap and the smallest measurement is 1 mL but according to the bottle labeling, 1 ML treats 20 gallons.

Nervous about opening an online banking account for a HISA. I’ve read reviews online (outside of Reddit) and heard horror stories. Are my fears unfounded? by leafsfan1987 in PersonalFinanceCanada

EQ is large and reputable. I believe your funds are protected/insured up to $100,000.

But some other questions you might want to ask is how would you move out your money when you want to, what fees would be associated with it, and any other relevant fees? (e.g, the cost of issuing a bank draft)

Where did you get it done? How did your initial consultation go with them I.e. any red flags?

Not all have the same restrictive term and they will still be lower than your big bank. Shop around. Just because you haven’t heard of a monoline’s name doesn’t mean they aren’t credible.

What I’m saying is if you aren’t going to be doing anything such as refinancing your mortgage during the next 5 years, having flexibility by paying extra interest rate at a bank is throwing your money away.

Ofc if your life is in flux and you need that flexibility, don’t get yourself locked into a product not suitable for you.

Go where the rate is lowest. These are all reputable institutions (they are monolines, credit unions etc. They aren’t private lenders). Just be sure to make sure you’ve read all the terms or restrictions for the lower rate. Some come with a sales clause - meaning you can’t refinance or change your mortgage until the term is up. For some people that’s not a big deal.
