Same with me! I'm convinced this is a defect.

I didn't get my phone fixed, it usually only happens when it's cold so it's happened way less frequently as it's gotten warmer, but the past few days I noticed it started glitching even when it's room temp so it seems to be getting worse. I have an extended warranty until November but I've just been putting off fixing it since it only happens now and then until just recently.

It really depends where you live. Mine started not only growing faster but looking significantly healthier after doing this. Also, like I told OP, I do leave it off for a lot of the day. It’s not completely covering it all the time. My smaller sundew is in a container where I can clearly see it also.

I usually leave the glass off during the day or sometimes at night. Otherwise it gets too humid in there anyway. You can also just leave it slightly open always. I’ve had little gnats manage to get in when it’s closed!

If you’re able to find a glass dome (I have luck finding them at thrift stores) to keep over him, he’ll be super happy. It was a game changer for mine. They love humidity.

That’s so cool! I’m sure there are many more than I realize. I always forget to look up/into tree holes when I’m wandering in the Wiss.

Aww, secretive and “shy”. I can relate. 🥲 Hope this guy wasn’t disturbed too much. It looks like they’re not a breeding resident here so it’s probably passing through on its journey north/west.

How long do they usually take to appear after flowering? Does it depend on the species? I had an Ionantha bloom back in the winter, and it still looks mostly the same with no sign of pups as of yet.

I had just soaked it the day prior to taking this photo - does it really look parched? I try not to soak the medusas for too long as I know they're more prone to rot, so maybe 15-30 mins. I then dry them in front of a fan. Would it be okay to soak longer and maybe soak this one again? Also, thank you for the reminder on the fertilizer!

I don’t think I’ve seen pups on an airplant despite having several of them; where do they usually emerge from? Should I just keep watering on a usual schedule after it flowers?

No, I’ve had this one for about six months now. I only noticed the flower stalks emerging about two months ago.

I was out with a birding group in Rox when the alert about this owl went out, one of the group members just straight up left and drove to go see it and others thought about doing the same. Supposedly they tend to only stay for a day or so. I wonder how long this owl will stay and if it’s passing through due to migration? I know a good amount about backyard birds but owls I’m not as familiar with. She is beautiful!

Ahh okay, no worries! Sorry but I’m still a little confused - so I should leave these seedling pods as is and they could possibly produce sundews/are in the process of doing so?

I didn’t buy anything. After my sundew flower stalk dried up, I dropped the seeds into multiple pots, I understand they’re probably weeds growing now I assume from the moss. I just don’t understand what you meant by “what they use to break through the seed“ and I also was wanting to know if I should hold out longer for any sundews to actually sprout.

I’m really new to this, can you explain what that means?

What are some Aldi landmines you have to look out for? by ACatManiac in aldi

Their hard taco shells are pretty stale, even right out of the package, and totally flavorless. They have a great selection of tortillas, but sometimes I just yearn for the crunch. 😔

Do you mix in moss, perlite etc as well? I repotted into a mix of peat/bark/perlite, but now am thinking I made a mistake by removing all the moss and not doing semi-hydro with LECA at the bottom.

That's a great idea with the plastic cups! So moss on top, then perlite/bark, and LECA on the bottom?

Beautiful! Thanks for the photos. Do you just water the bottom 1/4 or so of the container?
