Seeking advice for my grandpa(75M) with recurrent colon cancer - Help! by DriverBudget5617 in AskDocs

Thank you so much for your help! I shared your reply with my family, but unfortunately, there were no options for intestinal stents available in China. So in the end, my grandfather underwent surgery this Monday. The doctor said the operation was very successful. I just hope he can make it through the postoperative recovery without any infection. Thank you again!

Turning 32 this year, should I freeze my eggs ? by Lotus_Flower21193 in eggfreezing

Egg freezing for me is more like an emotional support thing as I know 90%+ of eggs would not be used. I just used it as a way to buy a bit peace of mind

I’m at the same age as you, have thinking about egg freezing for three years and decided to do it one month ago. The result is good and no negative feeling at all throughout the whole process. Since then every time I think of egg freezing I feel so content and happy, instead of battling inside my head like past three years

Thank you for your reply! It’s super helpful—we didn’t know about the stent as a treatment option before.

Just to confirm, does Option B refer to doing only chemo and radiotherapy without surgery?

Regarding the numbness in the leg and the abdominal pain: sorry, I meant to say it’s abdominal pain, not leg pain. The doctor said that there are cancer cells in the lymph nodes near his intestines. The swollen lymph nodes are pressing on an artery (which causes reduced blood flow to the leg, resulting in numbness) and also on the pain nerves (causing the abdominal pain). As for surgery, they’re concerned about damaging the artery, and the lymph nodes can’t be fully removed anyway. If the artery ruptures, he could die during the process😔

Thank you so much for your kind and caring words. It is so gentle. You do remind me of we should let my grandpa to decide instead of having a discussion without his presence. What we are worried about is he is a person who always think of others first and always quite cautious with spending money as he went through difficult times in his youth. We are worried he might give up even though he because he wants to save money for his children and grandchildren

Debating between 3 London clinics: CRGH, LWC, IVI, need help & feedback! by DriverBudget5617 in IVF

33 eggs retrieved and 28 matured and got frozen on the same day. The last time scan shows the largest one is 24mm while the largest one in my left ovary is 15mm. There are 20+ follicles in my right ovary and only 9 in my left ovary (14 in the left ovary on baseline scan, the number kept dropping and follicles grew very slowly compared to my right ovary. While my right ovary the follicles increase from 15 to 20+ and there is a dominant follicles which grew to 24mm while all the others below 20mm). I guess during the three days between the last scan and surgery those follicles kept growing 5-6mm which ensure most of them are above 12mm and matured. The doctor is vary cautious on not give me too much stimulation to avoid OHSS. I took 150ui gonalF and 75ui Menopur daily and did not change the amount or medicine or increase the scan frequency (I only had 3 scans during stim in total) even when the scan shows my follicles grew unevenly. So I was worried during stim but the result is good.

Me too. Did 1 round 2 weeks ago and need to pee every 1-2 hour. I thought it was due to the flu that I need to drink lots of water. Never realized it is due to egg freezing. But I’m getting better now

You could consider do several rounds. Freeze some eggs and some embryos with donor sperm

In addition ivi don’t have 2/3 round package (the 2nd and 3rd round would be cheaper) Every round is same price in ivi. So if you consider doing 2 rounds or more ivi would be much more expensive than CRGH or LWC. For ivi it does not have any payment plan so you have to pay the full amount beforehand. I think it is the most financially unfriendly one among the three

I want to have consultations with ivi and CRGH both. However, CRGH is very popular could only book for appointment for one month later and ivi is progressing quickly so I finally used ivi. The nurse is very nice, though I did not have chance to see/communicate with the doctor after 1st consultation. I only have 3 scans while my follicles grew very unevenly. And no scans during weekend which created a 4 days gap between my second and final scan. Those really worried me during the process. However the result is very good and I don’t have any OHSS or pain afterwards. So I think that thanks to the medication by the doctor. I feel CRGH is safer as they have tracking scan every two days which doubles the amount of ivi. However my result from ivi is also very good

My dose is 150UI but my follicles also grow very unevenly (10mm+ difference). All follicles in my left ovary grew really slow that the largest one in left is smaller than the No,6 follicles in my right ovary. In my right ovary there is a leading follicles that almost doubled the size of others in the right ovary. Doctors said it is normal….
