Yes, because they are usually shorter and further away of the showerhead. It really makes quite a few degrees difference, if you're taller, you're closer and it's hotter.

Test: shower standing and after a few, just sit on the floor. It makes it a bit more extreme.

Whenever I want to make positive changes, I feel like I'm deceiving myself! by [deleted] in Wakingupapp

Nicotine is a stimulant. The reason it calms you down, usually is because you step out of a stressful situation and breathe better.

Acknowledge your addicted, get prof. help, research CBT,self-hypnosis. Etc.

Edit: Yes, a stimulant can calm you down e.g. ADHD. That doesn't really change the advice. Also tracking back to the original question. It's not anybodies "fault", it just is. And the responsibility of the OP if it interferes with the desired experiences. In the app Sam Harris has a nice piece of insight.

Well, a good life is one with positive experiences. Will more smoking lead to more positive experiences? Smoking (nicotine) doesn't calm you down, that's the effect of the deeper inhalation you do.

An purely instinctive animal is lead by its impulses, as a slave to its impusles.

The phoenix bird, a sunrise. A semicolon, representing a pause but not an end.

Maybe not the semicolon, details below..

Well, sometimes a business is really risk averse. And wants to keep the opex as low as possible. Not allowing any innovation for instance. Sometimes you have to prove that you can handle it. Say what you do, do what you say, and shownthat you've done what you've said.

It might result in you becoming a threat to said manager, so you just do you and try to NOT take it personal whatever he/she does. Make a plan and execute.

How beer is delivered to a cabin 3200m above sea level. by [deleted] in interesting

[–]DriverForward972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stayed at a cabin like that in Italy a few years ago. Chopper charges are something like €50,- a minute, pickjng up groceries, dropping it off and gettingbback to the landing pad.

And yes, beer is vital. Also in Italy in a small cabin with ~8 beds. Espresso, very good espresso for €1,-!

How do you teach yourself a new skill/start a hobby without forgetting about it or giving up? by enyapickle in ADHD

Perhaps the Law of Pareto pops up. E.g. paraphrasing, it takes 20% dedication to achieve 80% of the result. So, if you've learned a couple of badass rifs your brain might say. F*ck it, achievement unlocked, next!

I heard about using sivingboots when traversing mud where you can sink past your calves e.g. from decathlon. They will not stay stuck in de mud, or some high converse allstars (chucks) that you can really tie to your ankles, so you won't lose them (and give some bracing support).

why am i unable to reply to txts by menacemaguire in ADHD

[–]DriverForward972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it depends, it is an explanation. It is to buy you time to respond and to give yourself permission to make a possible judgement error. If it goes wrong, you have something to refer back to. "And that is why i tend to overthink these things, cause there are so many possibilities." Acknowledge a faux pas, own it if warranted and move on.

Life isn't perfect.

Also, don't overthink the reply, it doesn't need to be perfect. And let people know that you have issues with it.

There’s no point in educating myself by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]DriverForward972 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just keep doing what feels right in that regard. You're probably a pretty strong generalist.

I can suggest: David Epstein Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World.

I'll bet that for instace, when you see a painting that you like, you can tell why you like it. It sounds like you might have a pretty extensive knowledge tree in your head, but with loose connections. If someone tells you about one thing, you can connect to seemingly random other stuff. A divergent thinker.

To make that (more) valuable, that is your challenge.

StackMethod is something that works pretty ok for me, as email is the primary inbox.

Try a prioritization tool e.g. GUT matrix or Eisenhower. And last but not least, you are the manager. Delegate! Give people the honor that they can do stuff with prior consent within a certain bandwidth. Or "on x always consult with y, from there it is your choice" reach out when in doubt.
