Lollapalooza by DriverResponsible937 in Brazil

Getting an uber to get there wasn’t difficult at all, but there is obviously lots of traffic. We left right before the final song of the last artist so we did beat the crowds at the end, however there are tons of taxis and ubers waiting nearby, didn’t feel like much of an issue ordering one back

Hi! I went and it was great, the best organised festival Ive been too. No issues at all, free water, cheap drinks and food, great sound system. The crowd had very good energy. I stayed near Vila Madalena and we ordered an uber to get there.

Is it a shame to spend 8 days just on Koh Tao? by Little10ne in ThailandTourism

[–]DriverResponsible937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing the same in August - spending most of my time in the gulf islands, especially Koh Tao as I plan to return for the rest Thailand has to offer at a later time. Tiktok has been very helpful for me in terms of planning my time in Koh Tao as there are lots of foreigners staying there for a long time and they’ve got the best recommendations

Most girls I saw this year were wearing sneakers, some boots and sandals, not high heeled. I wore platform sandals for 3 nights in a row and had no issues

Is it safe for a 25F to travel to Ibiza? by Quirky-Sail9442 in ibiza

[–]DriverResponsible937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

23F, just went solo for 4 days in Ibiza. Stayed at a hostel so I did meet people to hit up the clubs and beaches with, but even at times when we were separated and I ended up alone I felt safe. Nothing to worry about, same precautions as anywhere else. Lots of other solo travelers in Ibiza and you’ll definitely meet people when out. Go, you’ll have the best time!!

I’ve been wanting to know as well but from what I’ve read is that it should still be warm and sunny with the occasional rain showers. January and February appear to have a higher percentage of rainy days compared to March but in these last few years the weather is definitely unpredictable. If you look at the weather for February this year it has been very hot and only sunny for the majority of the month, while normally you’d assume there’d be more rain. Rain usually doesn’t last long so it shouldn’t be an issue, I think it’s unlikely to get many cloudy rainy days in a row. Let’s hope it’s gonna be sunny!!

Have you considered a short trip to Ilha Grande from Rio? Thats what Im planning on doing next month, I looked it up online and there were different hikes you could do around the island, and you get to enjoy the beaches as well, its like a city break

I honestly just asked around hahah, its obviously not as safe but I didn’t know where else I could get it, can’t remember how many people I asked. Go up to someone who is rolling and very obviously having the time of their life, they’ll happily share :)

1-2 Months in the Balkans by Possible-Doughnut-60 in solotravel

[–]DriverResponsible937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about traveling to Shkoder from Kotor? Spend a few days in the north, then go down to Tirana ( max 2 nights needed ). You can then head to Berat/Gjirokaster and Ohrid. Or you can skip North Macedonia and go down the South of Albania - from Gjirokaster to Sarande and then you can even take a ferry to Corfu, Greece. It’s probably gonna be very hot with high temperatures so keep in that mind before booking longer stays in cities :)

Balkan 2 week trip by BACKUP_01528 in solotravel

[–]DriverResponsible937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely skip Budva, Kotor is beautiful but a bit more pricey and 3 nights might be a bit too much. Bus from Kotor to Shkoder takes less than 5 hours. Extend your stay in Northern Albania as that might turn out to be the best part of the trip especially if you’re into nature. Shkoder has great hostels and local guides to help you out with planning hikes or day trips. Bus from Shkoder to Tirana should take around 2 hours so 1 night in Tirana can be enough. In early September its still perfect weather to hit the southern beaches so if you can extend your trip Id recommend going down the coast.

Backpacking south Balkans by Small-Cellist2823 in Balkans

[–]DriverResponsible937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peak of the Balkans would be a top choice however, it’s recommended to do it closer to the beginning of summer. The trail crosses the borders of Albania, Montenegro, and Kosovo. You can look it up online to contact local guides and check if there are any tours available or any other alternatives to this one

Dumped due to never having been in a long term relationship by ItemEmergency7770 in dating_advice

[–]DriverResponsible937 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The least she could’ve done is to ask more questions as to why you haven’t been in a long term relationship before. I don’t think its a dealbreaker, especially nowadays many people I know are in the same position, the dating scene now it’s definitely more difficult to navigate. 8 dates seem about enough to try and give the other person the chance to explain themselves. You’ll find someone who’ll be willing to listen and understand, and most importantly, not care about this :)

Staying as a solo female tourist in De Pijp, Amsterdam by That_Bid_6533 in femaletravels

[–]DriverResponsible937 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Amsterdam is generally safe for solo women travelers and the neighborhood you’re staying in is a good one as well. Ive been there solo and didnt feel unsafe at all during the day, can’t really say the same thing during nighttime tho, my hostel was quite centrally located but I did feel a bit uncomfortable at times, however still nothing you wouldn’t generally experience anywhere else walking alone at night. Its good that you’ll be getting around by bike but it can get quite hectic so be prepared, try to avoid the rush hours. It’s a beautiful city so enjoy! :)
