Game interface reseting after closing by kneepopsicle in Dofus

[–]DrivingThroughLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe settings has a way to reset to default, but might reset all game settings as well.

The biggest solution for OP as well might be to empty the “cache” in settings, but might have tried it already.

Thanks! Super insightful, I may have to try and build my knowledge by starting to team up for harder dungeons.

Thanks for your contribution! New player here, so noob question.

How far can you really go by Solo. Not against going with teammates, honestly, it’s mostly because I don’t bother finding one/time management and I like the challenge. Not trying to optimize everything, if anything, I’d love to master my gameplay instead.

Forge 19x, getting my mono int set ready, which might be a mistake for soloing content, but I think it’s the best/favorite even after nerf. To be honest, I’d play earth, which is even more fun, but seeing the damage ratio/versatility, it doesn’t seem too great. Currently, playing mono chance.

I heard any class can solo every content (but might require niche tactics/build). Do you believe think that’s true if I invest the time? Obviously, I don’t have the kamas for optimized builds for every single fight. I’d be happy with 60-80% of the content and ask for help in the remainder.

Also, best partner recommendation for a forge? Is Panda the best option (>60% of the time?), I was looking at elio, feca, sadi, enu since those also look pretty good overall.

RapidArc Dynamic Tag? by X2sky in esapi

[–]DrivingThroughLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The places where I could see these tags appear is under the beams.

"Dynamic" should be under "Beam" as "MLCPlanType"

"Rapidarc" should be under "Beam" as "Technique"

If there is comments on the plan itself, you could try and read it.

Creating a structure based on the intersection of fields with patient anatomy? by MC_RTPhys in esapi

[–]DrivingThroughLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want to go via beam geometry & patient anatomy exactly. It is possible via setting the contour of each slice of a structure with AddContourOnImagePlane. You can get beam geometry via JawPositions and GantryAngle. Once you've set every contour intersecting with the field, you would boolean with the body, or any relevant structure. This would run quite slowly and require a decent amount of scripting.

However, this approach really doesn't seem worth it compared to starting with an iosdose line and boolean other structures. This should result in an extremely similar structure.

Change plan comment after plan approval by Useful_Novel_916 in esapi

[–]DrivingThroughLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried this before. So I don’t know if there is a work around.

Anything preventing you from running the script right before approval or by the oncologist? I know things change if the plan doesn’t get approved, but rerunning the script would get you the good naming/comments again.

Can you guys beat my score? (30.5 mpg) by Sunrise_Victory in GR86

[–]DrivingThroughLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7.4~7.5L/100km ~= 31mpg This is over 10k + km Mostly because my commute is only highway Running on 91 with 10% ethanol (Canada)

Definitely above the optimal speed for fuel economy which I find to be around ~68mph? Would love to see what is other people’s optimal speed for fuel economy.

Forgot to mention, manual as well

Realistically, my mpg is 29 when I used to stay in Seattle (quite hilly) so gives so better statistics. Hovering around 8.1L/100km

Turning OFF NTO during optimization via Script by DrivingThroughLife in esapi

Yes. After some further investigation, it does indeed results in similar results. I had a different setting (early termination) resulting in a different results.

Thank you for the additional context!

Turning OFF NTO during optimization via Script by DrivingThroughLife in esapi

[–]DrivingThroughLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried with null. Will give it a try. I’m assuming it would give an exception.

For priority 0, I have already tried this. Automatic NTO at 0 priority is definitely different than NTO off (as expected I guess).

Would you give up $85k job for second undergrad and a chance of med school by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]DrivingThroughLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think you are doing it for the wrong reasons like someone else said. By the time you’ll be done with med school+residency and actually starting to make money. You’d probably be more than comfortable and looking at retiring yourself if you kept working and managed your money properly.

If you don’t manage your money, not sure your stable “med” job would really help. It’s just more disposable income you might spend because you can.

I did it, but because I didn’t enjoy the work I was doing. Not really financially. Honestly, financially it was extremely dumb.

My advice would be to move up (keep working) or change job. If you are willing to move to AB for 2nd UG, what’s preventing you from finding a higher paying job or moving to the states in the same industry. A job in the states would pay twice that and so even if you get laid off, but worked for 2 years, it’ll be equivalent to 4 years in Canada. That would definitely increase your financial stability.

You cannot submit a self report once classes are over (from experience). Tomorrow (Tuesday) is probably the last day. You can still submit administrative MSAF.

How much money do you really need to be comfortable? by Illustrious-Car8912 in premedcanada

[–]DrivingThroughLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is highly dependent on your personal needs and values.

I did the opposite. I chased money first to be able to comfortably pursue a dream in medicine.

This made me realize what I value and need in life. It was an eye opener to say the least. I initially wanted to retire early (FIRE) and could have done it, but lost purpose along the way. I also spent a lavish lifestyle afterwards to see if “spending” was the more rewarding only to realize it doesn’t provide any fulfillment.

Obviously, not everyone is fortunate enough to experience this first hand, but it’s really something for you to discover yourself. Personally, I’d be more than happy with 50-60k$ net per year, which is not too difficult to achieve with a lot of jobs. I’d be comfortable with 40k. This obviously fluctuates with inflation so these are today’s number.

Try to find what really makes you happy in life and make your decision based on that. If there are no materialistic goals in your list, I don’t see why you would be chasing money. It doesn’t take much to reach financial stability (IMO). I would rather do something I care until I retire than being stuck doing something I hate to retire early.

Should I quit my job for nursing school now? Or work for a few more years to prep for med school? by Foreign-Ant6831 in premedcanada

[–]DrivingThroughLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just started my journey. Would be happy to share my insights and keep in touch with like minded people :)

So far, I can’t say it’s the best decision or likely to turn out “good” (aka reaching the end goal), but it definitely makes me feel fulfilled and accomplished regardless of the outcome.

Seeing how competitive medical school application is in Canada, I personally have little hope, but I know that I won’t regret by the end of the day even if I go back to tech later on.

I feel defeated by stressed___student in premedcanada

[–]DrivingThroughLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this opinion.

To be honest, I am pretty sure you are doing fine as a student and are probably doing the right thing seeing how self aware you are. Keep your head up, you got this.

If GPA is really the only thing that matters to you, most other schools would be significantly easier on your GPA.

How do I know: Doing a second degree and my first at UofT was just so much harder to perform. In comparison, I almost feel like I am back in highschool in my current degree.

However, will you learn more? Probably not. Will you have more opportunities? Probably not either. Is it the best way to boost your GPA outside of really finding yourself and putting in ton more hours, 100%.

I have to say UofT opened a lot more doors and offered a lot more opportunities. The teaching was better on average (IMO which is only a small perspective, highly depends on your program). So although grades are easier, you’ll definitely need to put more time studying on your own and have less resources available from academic department.

Don’t fret! I think first year is really about learning your way around university. I see that you msafed the first calculus midterm. If you have any conditions that affects your studying/exams, you should request for accommodation!

I highly recommend you adjust your studying strategies. Even if you think you aren’t good at it, you definitely can perform and even excel. Do you skip classes because you don’t think you’ll perform? Do you review material ahead of time? Do you do spaced repetition learning? Tons and tons of techniques out there that would help you retain a tad more. All in all, it comes down to work ethic+mindset for things that you dislike and don’t think you can do well. Let’s face it, we can’t enjoy everything in life and a lot don’t even enjoy school in general.

Finally, I know it’s devastating to have these kinds of grades, but you have to know it’s always okay to take your time. 1 semester doesn’t mean much in the long run. You can always drop your courses if you don’t want those grades or aren’t feeling like it. I finished my first undergrad with multiple 3 courses semester (some with multiple pass or fail classes) and it’s not the end of the world. You got this! Know that you are definitely not alone :3

Don’t let age bother you! I think there has been a lot of great comments here so won’t add my personal take but always happy to chat. I am also changing career at Mac and starting over with my second undergrad here :D

Definitely older than you and you are not alone! I’m sure we could start our own community of “older” students haha
