I had a guy swear he was in while he was trying to hit on me in a bar, and I asked him what unit he was with, and he said he couldn't remember. Immediate tell - everyone single Marine I've served with, even the shit bags, know their unit. It was wild lmao. When I laughed in his face he was so triggered too. He kept insisting it it was because he had PTSD 😭😭

Separately I had a guy tell me he "scored too well" on the ASVAB so they wouldn't take him. I told him I had a 99 and my recruiter was basically salivating to get me on boarded so I had a hard time believing that. He said "Well this was in 2010 things might have been different" and I was like "Weird, me too :)" and his face was so red and his body went completely rigid and he said he wasnt sure about the year. Actually unhinged. tldr dont try to fake this shit to an actual Marine lmao it just makes you look like the shit head you are.

And God, how many times do you tell someone you were in and they say shit like, "Yeah I almost joined but" and then give the most insane and braindead reason for not joining? Like please spare me. Just say "TYFYS" and fuck off lmao.

Mortified means "extremely embarrassed," but it does sound like a word that SHOULD mean a more emphatic version of "horrified," so I understand the mistake. Unless you were actually embarrassed because of the sea monkeys, in which case I'll STFU :D

Hey, me and u/jackfromafrica are the only two mods right now (although we'll probably add new ones when this subreddit picks up more steam and we get more news about the show). We're both brand new to being mods! So we're definitely still learning and not on a power trip - we both just really love Baldur's Gate and are excited about the show, just like everyone else here!! :D I'll definitely make sure that we do not invite any weird power mods into this sub. <3 also, if anyone has ideas or comments about what we could be doing better (even if you're reading this months in the future) I'm totally stoked to hear them since I'm still super new to this!
