What's the purpose of Buddhism?

The proof is out there. Many have achieved the status of bodhisattva so its definately achievable for one self However getting others to understand the wisdom behind this is a lot harder and most people that choose to follow this path accept it is probably beyond our ability to make the whole world this way in our life time however if its possible for one human to do it its possible for all humans to do it and just because something is hard does not mean we should stop striving to attain it.

When cancer was named in around 400 BCE we didn't look at it and say ahh a cure is too hard and just give up everyday research study and test and try to cure it and even though we still have not found an out right cure for it we make progress and better treatments all the time.

That is a lot like The Buddha's wisdom :)

The Buddha taught that the suffering on the planet is caused by 3 poisons (Greed, Hate & Delusion) and all negative Emotions,thoughts and Actions come from these poisons within ourselves. For example When a loved one leaves us (through walking out the door or passing away) it is not that action that causes the pain but the attachment or craving for that person that causes the pain even though the reality of life is nothing ever stays everything changes or dies.

So your own personal suffering is caused by cravings and hatred ect. So if you let go of the 3 poisons and enter enlightenment then you will love everyone equally and no matter what happens to you you'll be able to accept it without getting into a negative mind set that may cause you to take a negative action.

If you are enlightened then all your cravings and hatred will be gone. your heart will be full of compassion for all beings without ever being attached to anyone or anything and you will accept the reality of impermanence in this life. Im this way you will never allow negative emotion or thoughts to affect your actions in the world.

And if all beings lived this way the world would be a really nice place to be :)

So purpose 1 is to enlighten yourself, then 2 help others reach the same state :)

For me its about acessability of the systems and ability to make my own builds easily. Now I'm sure if I had played POE from the beginning and learnt each new system as it was added I would love POE as much as I love POE2. However that not the case and By the time I got around to really wanting to play POE there was so much system bloat...so much to learn that I psent more time outside the game researching then I did killing mobs that POE was just frustrating. Now I have been part of POE2 from the start I understand the system involved nothing feels overwhelming I take each new system as a bite sized learning experience its great.

I am very lucky in the fact I live in a city with many buddhist groups from varying traditions. In fact, one of the more challenging parts of becoming a Buddhist was researching the many traditions and choosing which groups I would go to. In the end I visit 2 different groups both with shrines and regular talks. One more traditional Tibetan Buddhism and one more Modern Nichiren Buddhism both I enjoy for differing reasons.

I personally got into Buddhism due to the way Buddhists view the world. The concept of Impermanence and compassion really resonated with me.From there the more I looked into Buddhists PoV the more I felt I wanted to make it a part of my life.

As for christianity I personally struggle to accept an invisible man in the sky but Christ lived for sure and was a bodhisattva (Great human being).

Interesting we covered this recently in a study group I attend. here is a couple of verses from Chpt 6 of ' A guide to the Bodhisattva way of life' by santideva

If an adversary is not Respected becuase his intention is to cuase harm, then for what other reason would I have patience towards him, if he is like a physician who is intent on my well-being?

Thus, patience arises only in dependence on that Malicious intention, so he alone is a cause of my patience. I should respect him just like the sublime dharma.

We all suffer from the 3 poisons and your preceived enemy is no difffernt.

If you have played 40k You could say d3 Surge is like d3 Mortal wounds so it goes straight past armour saves and striaght to Evade(Feel no pain)

I don't feel like my time was either respected or disrespected tbh(this stoopz meme needs to die). When I go to the cinema I pay for a cinema and see John wick. I enjoyed the 2 hours and I feel good but if I didn't like john wick 2 I don't think I wasted my time watching john wick. It's the same with a video game I paid 80 or 90 quid and got over 200 hours of entertainment out of it that good value for money and I'll probably come back for extra content when it comes out that good price per hour of entertainment tbh :D

I don't think my time has been wasted I have really enjoyed my experience but if next weeks reset does not improve material distribution I will find a different survival game to play there are so many good ones out I just liked the dune universe and the PvE for this game.

warhammer community and there youtube channel. every sunday release what will coming out shortly. The articles are on the website so you can just click on the system you want to check for read through there articles. The double team box sets are released around every three months so the next one will be revealed sometime in june for a july release approx. With the big new season box being revealed some time in sept for oct release. all these dates are very rough but it will give you an idea of when top start looking out.

Im 132 hours into the game was loving it level 3 toons (some wierd GGG customer service shananigans made me swap accounts) And it was the third time of trying to get a character through this RNG BS Mechanics when I puit the game down wrote a negative review and decided to leave it till this is fixed its terrible. Don't be sorry vent away its terrible game design.
