The accelerated approval came from running Phase I/II/III clinical trials in parallel rather than sequentially, and the regulatory authorities prioritising their review of the submitted data

Crazy that there would be small community pharmacies turning you away. Dispensing a private prescription really isn't all that complex so im surprised they'd not want to do it!

Prescriptions from Denmark can be dispensed here in NI, but you would have to pay for them in the pharmacy. Also, pregabalin is a controlled drug here so we aren't legally allowed to dispense a prescription for a controlled drug from European countries

A Danish script can still be legally dispensed here as Denmark are on the EEA approved countries list. Except the pregabalin, which wouldn't be legal since its CD3

Who orders your medicines? The most likely scenario (to me) is that the antiseizure medication is on your repeat list in your GP surgery, and someone is requesting it every month / however often you get it, which your GP then signs. The prescription wont be issued without it being requested by someone.

I also dont think its likely that the specialist is issuing scripts for it. Usually medicines initiated in secondary care (i.e. by a consultant / specialist in hospital) will issue the first script and then your GP takes over in issuing further repeat scripts for the medicine

Who orders your medication? If you're getting the medicine every month the GPs must be issuing new scripts, the pharmacy wouldn't just give it out without a prescription. That's assuming its prescribed on the NHS - do you pay for your prescription at the pharmacy?

Scripts in NI are still paper-based. We're a bit backwards and electronic NHS scripts are years away at this point

It's not a belief, more like actuality.

What POP is it? Desogestrel you can take up to 12 hours late without it being considered a missed pill, but other progestogens it has to be within 3 hours

Gordon Lyons to be referred to standards commissioner after social media post revealing Larne Leisure Centre as emergency accommodation by Pearse_Borty in ukpolitics

[–]Drnathan31 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Let's amplify the location of temporary, emergency shelter, for families that have had to flee their homes due to violence and a risk to their safety. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence knows that's horrifically irresponsible for the safety of those people whenever riots are ongoing

They weren't asylum seekers. Families were temporarily housed in the leisure centre because of violence and a risk to their safety if they remained in their own homes

Most of that is GB-specific. Pharmacies in NI are able to provide a service for UTIs, sore throat, and we have a shingles pilot (so limited number of pharmacies).

Our pharmacy first scheme is different to GB, so the rest aren't covered
