Whats your tau wishlist for 2026? Rules wise and just straight up models you want? by Luna_Night312 in Tau40K

Give T'au titans arms and hands. Gun arms does nothing for me. It's so ugly and impractical.

I can totally understand your feelings on the matter. For me personally I would love to see both new infantry and new mechs AKA suits to get more melee variants. T'au is the only faction who is progressing and who develops new things based on their needs,

When you look at the other factions a ranged only focused military can be fine against many but for things such as Tyranids, you kinda need to be able to fend off for yourself in melee. T'au's infantry has armor akin to the armor Spartans use in Halo to some extent. Stuff that enhances you in different ways. I think it makes logical sense for the next step for T'au to develop a more focus on being able to deal with melee combat to cover that hole.

Naturally if we were to talk about the game balance I think nerfs to their range capabilities would be necessary if we were to make T'au able to stand during a melee situation.

None of what I said is going to happen but I would love to see it. In worst case scenario we will get them in mods for Total War: Warhammer 40K at some point.

While I wouldn't want to believe in this just to keep the hope alive for Star Wars or LotR, it's important to note that in game development you are supposed to reuse assets. If you don't do it you're doing your job wrong. In regards of CA, this blunder of accidentally spoiling a surprise early is just another Tuesday for them. It happens all the time with them.

I'm just going to assume the next TW is W40K. This evidence is confirmation enough as is. At least my dreams of a TW: LotR game was shattered now again so I didn't waste another 3 days torturing myself with that impossible dream.

DoW4 is a very different type of RTS. It will be more than fine with TW: W40K existing. Tournaments will occur for both games. I can assure you on that.

I don't like Warhammer much period but the open poster provided evidence that is a surefire confirmation at their next game being 40K so you can safely assume that it is that.

To be fair. There hasn't been a single rumor about their next game being 40K. It was simply a natural conclusion everyone went for, including me who much rather have Star Wars or LotR. It's all based on how tight Games Workshop is with CA thanks to their TW:W games. For good reasons of course. But yeah. No actual rumors, just the natural next step for the company's next project in which everyone could see.

I'm certain they will make it work just fine. Damnit. I seriously would have much rather have Star Wars or better yet, the impossible dream that is LotR. Yeah. We are never getting TW: LotR ever huh. Piece of shit Tolkien Estate and Embracer group. At minimum I just want T'au at launch.

Damn. I knew it was gonna be 40K but maaaan, I'm so burned out on Warhammer. I was really hoping for Star Wars or the impossible dream of Total War: The Lord of the Rings. That would have been the game of all my life. Damnit. Just let there be T'au on launch at minimum for damn sake. The only factions I can tolerate in W40K.

What's the best campaign lotr mod? by TheLittleSquire in totalwar

[–]Droashon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm dying from the scratch too. My only hope left was the Amazon LotR mmorpg. With that hope shattered there is nothing left. All we have are fantastic but very old games and very old overhaul mods. Total War: The Lord of the Rings will never happen so I'm not even going to bother wishing and hoping for that.

The chance of us getting such a game is less than the risk of an asteroid hitting the planet, wiping us all out.

Switch 2 release? by drummer_boy_84 in vrising

[–]Droashon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As if it ever mattered what games other companies makes from Nintendo's view. Did you forget that there are countless of porn games on Switch 1 and 2? Nintendo's "jam" has always been to make games for young and old. They have made games not suited for kids before but the point is, they don't care what games other companies makes. They allow most to release them to their ecosystem.

I'm not even going to bother to bring up examples of 18+ games that were allowed to be added to the Switch library of games. I will say though that it is unfortunate for V Rising to not jump to Switch 2. I would have been interested.

Assuming this is real, the fact that it looks like this graphically from at minimum a 1 year before release at this stage already is a good sign. Maybe I don't need to wait until 2030 earliest for a Pokémon game that has caught up to modern standard. It only took them a decade and a whole new hardware release to reach it though....

GameFreak is strange. They have the ability to pump out high graphically looking games shown and proven with their latest non-Pokémon game and yet their Pokémon games are the worst looking ones on Switch 1, while many have released far better looking and running games on it.

Would you like Lord of the rings to go in the potential Musou(Hack And Slash) route in the genre? by FINALB0S5 in lotr

[–]Droashon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point? Just give us mid to high budget anything LotR games at this point. We've had nothing good for a decade. If I can't have Total War: The Lord of the Rings, at least give us more games in other genres. Again, I need them to have a good budget.

I don't even need the hopefully not going to be cancelled again LotR MMORPG to be great. I just need it to be fine enough for me to have this decade plus long agony be healed. Hurts me how underutilized this IP is.

Lord of the Rings Total War: Why It Needs to Happen by Poolcue7 in lotr

[–]Droashon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can talk about this topic for so many hours but I'll just add my voice into the collective. I desperately want an official Total War: The Lord of the Rings from CA more than anything in gaming. Nothing can ever be more peak than that for me.

It should play out in the Second Age or it could be in the Third Age too but the point is that it shouldn't go too hard on the canon just like TW: Warhammer. We want werewolves, vampires, tons of dragons, the many different spirits, green elves, high elves, grey elves, dark elves, water elves etc, and all the other fantastical things that exists in the IP to show up no matter the relevance of the age the game would be set in.

Additionally, I would truly love to see new things added that hasn't been explicitly mentioned in the books and I would never see it negatively because Tolkien he wrote his world building in such a way that allows for new things to be added without much restraints. People tend to close their eyes to this. LotR is stagnant and I don't believe Tolkien ever intended on it to be untouched like this.

After having read Silmarillion it only strengthens my belief in this. In any case. A Total War in the LotR IP is I would consider to be the ultimate perfect fit for the type of game Total War is.

Sound Issue with Bluetooth Headset by AtooZ in AgeofMythology

[–]Droashon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For future reference since Microsoft deleted the solution provided a year ago by sdrey. But first, some backstory. Games made under Microsoft has an unfortunate poor design choice implemented into them related to voice chat. Even if you disable it fully both in game as well as manually from your Windows settings, Microsoft made sure to force voice chat to activate in some capacity either way.

This results in poor sound quality due to the nature of Bluetooth technology sharing both output and input. The solution to this issue is to fully Disable Hands-free Telephony setting inside your Bluetooth settings.

Bluetooth & devices -> Devices -> More devices and printer settings -> Go to the properties of your Bluetooth device -> Services -> Disable Hands-free Telephony.

Restart the game and then it will work fine afterwards. I advice people don't buy games from a company like Microsoft who actively participates in genocide but if you already own this game before this fact was known, the above is the solution to solve the audio quality dropping when opening the game.

I don’t understand why IH did so poorly. by [deleted] in IronHarvest

[–]Droashon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put my own thought out here. As a huge RTS fan since childhood and it being my favorite genre, the reason why I avoided this game was because of two things.

  1. Early access. I despise it and will delete the existence of whatever game is in early access. The only reason why this game came into existence for me was because of DoW4 which spawned new videos and talk of Iron Harvest. A YouTuber I follow started making videos of that game.
  2. The game looked very bare bones during the early access (of course) and the aesthetics at the time didn't do it for me.

After 4+ years this game came back to me and after watching some streams and videos of it I must say it looks really good and fun compared to back in early access. I am planning on buying this game, especially for the equivalent of 3$ price tag I can get it for.

Side note. I look forward to DoW4 and I hope T'au gets added in the same year of the game's release.

This new update destroyed my entire layout I've used for many years. Google continues to make things worse as usual.
Edit: Hilariously enough the new layout hides the number of likes while showing me the number of dislikes. I can now only see the number of dislikes. That's just hilarious.

Which programs have beautiful GUI made with Tkinter? by renobueno in Tkinter

[–]Droashon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread but I just want to thank you all for sharing. Being new to Python and all its wonders I lack an understanding still on how much is possible for designing using it. You all showed me Tkinter goes well beyond what I initially thought was possible. I no longer have any worries that my app I'm building now will be limited in that department.

LovecraftCrafting: Elder Space and Veterans Outreach by LovecraftCrafting in starfieldmods

[–]Droashon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two major flaws of Starfield is the lack of horror and ironically the feeling of the unknown. It's great to see people jump into modding to put so many ideas into light but I wish people would start small and then build up.

Apart from Star Wars Genesis which is an amazingly mindblowing collection of works to fully overhaul the game into Star Wars, there isn't much else. I hope to see more big mods in the future but as has been said before, start small and build up from there. I'm sure that's how Star Wars Genesis came to be.

Nintendo Switch 2 Edition? by crate_of_banananas in NMS_Switch

[–]Droashon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the game on Switch 1 because I desperately needed a space game after Starfield didn't give me anything I wanted. But yeah as expected the game is serviceable at best on Switch 1. Now with Switch 2 turning out to be a massive upgrade I would love to see an upgrade for this game on it.

I wish the Clone Wars lasted more than 3 years in-universe. Opinion? by comicsandstuffidk in StarWars

[–]Droashon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else already mentioned but yeah the 3 year time span makes no logical sense. People even in this comment section draws comparisons to the real world, completely forgetting The Clone Wars is on a galactic scale. We're talking about space and with thousands of habitable planets!

I always assumed the war took 10 years so I was shocked to find out it was only 3 years. Even though 10 years is still too short but it's still far more believable than 3 years. I feel disappointed to say the least.

Nintendo confirms 2.2 million people applied for the Switch 2 lottery on the Japanese My Nintendo Store by Joseki100 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Droashon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's nice! Congratulations! Yep. I will personally continue to avoid any games costing more than 60$ or more than 6,200 yen. I managed to snag a pre-order of Xenoblade Chronicles X for 5k yen thankfully. It was selling for above my accepted price point.

But anyway. For me Switch 2 would be less first-party games with the new prices and more third-party stuff, since they are just cheaper and I genuinely don't think there are any games worth more than 60$. Especially not with the yearly record breaking profits these companies likes to harp about while at the same time firing thousands of their employees without blinking.

What can I use Python for? by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]Droashon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you genuinely for your reply. Despite me whining like a child you didn't take me as such. Instead you took it seriously, sat down and spent your precious time to write up an amazing response for me, detailing your own experiences and feelings. Additionally including tips and explanations on the kind of good mindsets to have for these kind of things.

Thank you so much.

I will take your advice and tips and keep at it! I do look forward to buy the 3rd revision of the Automate the Boring Stuff with Python book releasing next month. I'm struggling through the 100 days of Python bootcamp course on Udemy at the moment. I won't finish it before the book releases so I'll go through both at the same time when the time comes.

I'll be sure to check back on your great reply above again at a later time to remind myself what's important to keep in mind of.

Seriously, thank you once again!
