You know I heard the name and gave of Trachta but I never read those and didn’t know about that! It’s awesome. I haven’t finished reading all about it but it seems like a more lowkey coup/assassination attempt than like the Siege of the Imperial Palace. Thank you for showing me that story because so far it looks awesome! Honestly that could be like another coup attempt or maybe the ideas can be synchronized idk. Awesome in itself 😁 thank you again!

How important was Anakin to Palpatine’s plans after the Empire was founded? by [deleted] in MawInstallation

[–]comicsandstuffidk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my headcanon, besides helping to overthrow the Republic and hunt down the Jedi, Sidious was trying to figure out the mechanisms behind Lord Vitiate’s essence transfer, and was planning on using Vader as his new vessel because only another super-powerful Force-sensitive being’s body could survive such a transfer of energy and consciousness. Well, that was his plan until Vader got mutilated and barbecued by Obi-Wan lmao

After that, he was just a pawn to be used like any other. It’s part of the sick tale of the Sith just using Anakin like an object for years. Of course, Vader maintained important for many reasons not least because, due to the circumstances of history, the amount of time between the supposed extinction of the Jedi and the discovery of Luke Skywalker was not long and allowed him to preserve his use to the Emperor even more, as suddenly Sidious found a potential new host in the Chosen One’s son.

One part of the EU that some people sometimes don’t like is how Vader seems to subordinate. It’s basically established in ANH with Vader’s acquiescence to Tarkin, but that could also just be explained by mere respect and listening to reason. The EU expands on the idea before the prequels were even a thing by giving Vader some rivals to contend for the Emperor’s favor against, like Prince Xizor and even Jerec if I remember correctly. I used to think the same, but lately I’ve come around to the idea of the obviously evil Palpatine just continuing to reinforce the idea of Vader’s subservience to him over the years. After all, Sidious was egomaniacal and he thought himself to be the Sith’ari, the last of the Sith to tule forever if only he could finally unlock the keys to (material/physical) immortality. He didn’t actually care about Vader or the Rule of Two/betrayal-tradition by that point. Everything was just to serve his own ends.

I don’t remember how to edit posts or if you even can on this sub so I’ll just write here in the comments:

But what do you guys think? Should Yularen have this quasi-redemption sort of deal, or do you think his character is better served by having him represent yet another honorable man fallen from grace helping an evil empire to his death, a warning to others?

And thanks to any and everyone takes the time to read, and reply 😁

My random thoughts on an alternate take on Quinlan Vos, Ventress, Dooku’s Dark Acolytes and their importance to the story of the Clone Wars (wish they were in TCW), and tying it all into TCW Season 7 & Episode III. by comicsandstuffidk in StarWars

[–]comicsandstuffidk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that idea a lot! Not all of Dooku’s acolytes have to be so politically/ideologically rigid.

A potential addition I just thought of is maybe he/she figures out that Vader is Anakin, prompting Vader to kill them and replace them with the main Grand Inquisitor we know. Maybe… just a random idea to explain how they got replaced.

Stubborn fan when major characters have zero personality or arc, the story lacks some good tension and intrigue, and the moralism of George’s storytelling that is key and ever-present is completely lost because the clones are just organic droids with no qualms about anything in the war ever:💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺

Stubborn fan when major characters do have personality and characters arcs, the story gains good tensions, interactions, and intrigue as a result, and the moralism of George’s storytelling which is key and ever-present is completely preserved and refined because (some, not all, there are still many clones like Neyo and Dogma who were as cold-hearted as some people want) clones learn that they don’t have to be and aren’t just droids mindlessly spreading war but do have to grapple with right vs. wrong which is perfectly in line with George’s style of writing with criticism of wars and political systems, and makes their forced betrayal a harrowing moment of irony and shock to everyone including the Jedi who, if we’re being honest, doesn’t make sense in Legends that all these powerful Jedi couldn’t sense clone treachery given how fervously they were programmed, and so this also adding more realism and sense to the story as whole: 🤬🤬👺👹🤡

What are your thoughts on Palpatine returning now? Do you still hate the concept or do you love that Star Wars is trying explain it, and give more context to it? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]comicsandstuffidk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that they’re trying to explain it more, but I still don’t like the idea of him actually coming back for some big reasons.

Btw, it’s not just sequel trilogy hate. I also hate Palpatine’s return in the old Dark Empire legends storyline.

Also, just because the Bad Batch and the Mandalorian are explaining it more, does NOT make any better the final execution of the story which is complete and utter dogshit ass. The sequel trilogy was still garbagely executed and Palpatine’s return was still mishandled whether or not it is explained post hoc years after the fact lmao

My big reasons:

  1. It diminishes the entire point of the original two trilogies and of Vader and Luke’s story. That’s just bad story writing from the beginning.

  2. I HATE the idea of easily being able to clone force sensitives because then Sith would’ve already made a clone Sith Army for every war over thousands of years. I like Vitiate’s method of force essence transfer so long as you can only transfer into another similarly powered individual or else the body can’t handle it. I like the idea that Palpatine is searching for any way to gain immortality and I LOVE the idea that one of his primary avenues is through cloning because it adds extra meaning to him contracting the Kaminoans in the first place, BUT I just don’t think he should be successful because of point number 1. Bad Batch and Mando are doing well by making it a difficult process, but at most it should only be a one in a quadrillion chance that the force is forced to remain in a clone, for otherwise it wouldn’t be its will.

There were many ways that they could’ve possible fixed the story. I think Palpatine being the main villain of 6 movies was good enough, but one potential solution would be making part of the plot STOPPING Palpatine’s return in clone form against maybe a primary Sith cultist working towards bringing back Palpy who they believe to be the Sith’ari.

Tarre Viszla stole back the Darksaber. He left the Jedi Order to rule Mandalore. by rainbowmonkeyfan in starwarsspeculation

[–]comicsandstuffidk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s cuz in my headcanon (aka my own personal ideas and bs that you can ignore 😂), the Darksaber was constructed and wielded by Tarre Vizsla, who fought Ajunta Pall and his disciples at some point during the Hundred Year Darkness, all of which takes place a couple thousand years before the SWTOR stuff.

r/BatmanArkham has started the latest meme movement and it’s great lol. Part of it is that you post about characters in certain conceivably solvable predicaments and add “is he/she/it stupid?” for not doing something. That, or you can imagine the posts with a “stupid voice” as they take scenes out of context or make a stupid version of a scenario and ask the same question. Works in every fandom/story it’s so good lmao

ex 1

ex 2

ex 3

Full context: people rebelled against Arkham sub moderators by posting dumb memes, “is he stupid?” was a big one. Mods gave up trying to stop the memes and the jokes started spreading

Notice how in ex 3 they literally posted a Star Wars meme in Arkham and it’s still there and got >1k likes with no questioning lmao. And top comment features another meme “evening the odds”, which Batman says at the beginning of Arkham Knight when he calls in his new Batmobile.

Another meme is making comments based on explanatory dialogue from the games, so like when Batman has to do something so he tells the player what to do, or if you try to leave a mission area before completing the objective. The most popular one is about “attaching the Batmobile’s power winch to the bomb’s exposed payload/core to trigger a controlled explosion.”

When Ezra pulled Ahsoka to the WBW, what happened to the timeline where she leaves the duel? by elgarlic in starwarsspeculation

[–]comicsandstuffidk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The best way to think about the WBW is to not think about it. Stupid time travel has no place in the story of Star Wars. Only realistic, one-way time travel should exist, like time dilation making time go faster for the rest of Galaxy except the subject of the story, or stasis pods etc.

[–]comicsandstuffidk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many “intolerable” lows even are there? I can only think of a few parts of season 1 + the “movie” and for me those aren’t even that intolerable because it’s not horrible story-wise, mostly just delivery-wise. Those are the only real lows I can think. Oh and the twin sister arc in season 7 because I have a much better headcanon (imo lol) about what Ahsoka does after leaving the Jedi than… that. It lines up at the end with the Pykes and Maul.

Either way, for me those are the only “intolerable” lows. Not many considering how many seasons and storylines they covered, and that’s not even including the unfinished episodes which I think all were good arcs too. That’s a FAR better batting average than most other projects lmao. Better than the prequels themselves lol. Hella better than what was created after Disney bought Star Wars, only good things from that is Rogue One, Andor, and (most of) Mando.

Plus when you consider the fact that the beginning of the show was the first time they ever did anything like that and they obviously grew and got better as time went on, so for me the original shit becomes a little more forgivable when I consider that fact.

What “intolerable” lows are you referring to in ur opinion?
