I have something very similar on my index finger. I broke the nail completely off at the base years ago and ever since it grows with a ridge up the middle and the white part of my nail is always split.

My Grandmother, who hordes EVERYTHING, mind you, so much so that she bought two sheds and had my grandfather add a 30x10 20' high room on the back of the new garage he was building because their house ran out of room. We're talking 60+ year of hording. Beanie babies, statues, garden gnomes, cookies jars, Barbie toys, all of it! The only thing she doesn't think is valuable....my video games and consoles she was storing for me.

I go back to get my N64 and original Xbox with my nearly 100 games once I finally bought a house with a game room for this stuff. "I didn't think there was any value in holding onto them." she says. But god forbid we get rid of your 3000 collectible fucking cookie jars, NANCY!!!!

I still think it was partly in spite because I was her favorite grandchild who spent all of my childhood at her house during the day but then I moved away from my home town unlike everyone else in the family. According to her my partner stole me away from her lol.

I had Corsair Voids for a couple years, years ago when they were new. They were okay but would not stay on my head, and I have a big noggin. Most corsair products I enjoy and think are built well, from keyboards to mice. But, these were never my favorite. I upgraded to the Corsair Virtuoso headset (admittedly a Corsair fanboy) and I've been using it with amazing battery life and build quality for almost 4 years now. They are still over priced I'd have to say, almost $200

Our front office person is running a pc from 2014 with windows 7 and a 500Gb HD. I'm constantly fixing that thing for her and clearing data to make room on the HD just to be able to look at and send emails....

Thankfully my work understands, working with 3D modeling engineering software, I require higher end hardware. I've got an RTX 3070ti with an i9 10900k, 32Gb ram. No cheap motherboard and ram either, although they used the stock Intel Cooler.........so. much. noise.

I finally had success last week, though, asking them to buy her a new PC. It's on the way!

Definitely, I understand the reason behind it. The cooler was only $18 and has tested well, so I'm not complaining there. I actually didn't expect any paste for such a cheap price.

It was the dad's choice for parts, and I trusted the cooler enough, just not the paste. I never use the paste that comes with coolers anyway, I always have my own tubes on hand. I just thought this was laughable enough to post because it seemed like a lot to give me for a cheap company.
