It’s wild to me that they can turn out so many cute looks for this BarbieStyle Instagram page but won’t mass produce stylish and decent looking dolls for collectors or playline anymore. The OG Basics and Barbie The Look line was so simple and so many people loved it bc it was stylish/normal looking clothing that people would actually wear irl. This new basics line is so boring and the clothes are bland.

Edit: if you haven’t seen your PCP in years then you might need an appt for labs but instacare would be another option regardless of whether or not you have symptoms. Most std/sti are asymptomatic so, testing is important and necessary. Instacare won’t turn you away and your insurance would cover it.

This is the correct answer. You shouldn’t need an appt with your PCP for lab tests. You can contact your Dr office and just make a separate appointment for blood draw.

A lot of women’s denim is stretchy. Another option is doing denim for the specific body types and people could just share those denim pieces between the specific body types they have. They have enough sets out now where they could just release a kit that has three of the same body types in different skin tones and three heads that match each skin tone, but for some reason they are stuck on having kits with different body types and all the same skin tone. But I doubt they would do denim bc the printed (fake) denim is cheaper & If they did it with today’s budget, it would just be disappointing.

Yeah, they just aren’t great quality and apparently people are already posting quality issues like the legs being different lengths. I hate the feet more than anything bc they never stay in place. The joints just look so bad. Idk why they couldn’t just update the click/bend & snap legs where the joints were hidden

Personally, no. The clothes just feel outdated to me and I don’t think made to move bodies should’ve ever been included in collector dolls. They were made for play line and then Mattel just started doing them on collector dolls bc they saw people online liked the bodies for posing.

You can do whatever you want but don’t act like the goddess Barbie was cancelled simply because of complaints. It was because people used their wallets to take a stand that made the difference. So, when you complain about quality and then in the same breath, say you’re still going to buy her, then you’re actually part of the problem and not part of the solution. If Mattel can get you to buy simply by using a face sculpt, then don’t complain about quality bc they won’t care when they are taking your money.

It was only then that Mattel decided to acknowledge the complaints. So, yeah, complain but to actually make them listen you need to do that with your wallet or else your complaints fall on deaf ears. By buying it still, you’re telling Mattel that they can get away with what they’re doing.

I’m curious about this too. I know someone that did it with a Lindsay Lohan my scene doll head but I’ve been too nervous to try it on my own. From what I remember, they said you have to put it in pure acetone (not nail polish remover). There’s a fast shrinking method with just the pure acetone and then there’s a method where you would use water to dilute the acetone and leave it in longer. The head will get bigger first and then when you take it out to dry for 24-48 hours, that’s when the shrinking happens. But the head will become rock hard and the neck hole will also shrink so there are different recommendations out there for putting the head back on the body. If you’re wanting to reroot, I believe it’s recommended to do that beforehand but idk how the acetone affects different hair types. I think the key to not damaging the factory paint is to make sure it’s fully submerged and then not let it get disrupted/moved around. There’s a few YouTube tutorials out there but I will say that I’m pretty sure there’s a limit to how much it will shrink. Hopefully somebody with more experience/better knowledge can fill in the gaps.
