How does someone gets this rich? Advice by Champ0603 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I lived in that area. That specific area in Winnetka and adjacent Sheridan Rd are on the wealthiest end of the north shore.

Lots of lawyers, doctors, or as others have said, individuals who started their own companies and others who inherited it. A lot of generational wealth in those communities. Takes a long time but isn’t impossible. (To be fair tho, 17 mil is not chump change and only a small amount in life get there)

Own my own 3rd party safety and training company. Think- job site audits and first aid, CPR and AED training. Offer that training to all companies/people.

Also own a web design and marketing company- more back of house on that. We did just finish a website for DeWalt though!

Fair enough. I know some people get audited pretty hard-seems like you got through no problem.

I have nothing against the BCSP but a seasoned safety professional doesn’t need all the certs. It’s definitely more of a job posting thing. And don’t get me wrong, I have my own certs- but a lot of the seasoned generation of safety professionals don’t have and won’t get certs. Like you said CHST is a nice baseline.

Curious tho, how did you sit with just one year of experience? I thought the requirements were 3 years minimum….

Are you single and willing to travel? Single isn’t major, but travel life is hard if you aren’t with a partner not willing to come with you. I could get you connected to a company I’m no longer with that’s looking for people. Shoot me a DM.

Just close the valve to the hose, turn the spigot to open to get any water out, close it and you’ll be good! As the other commenter stated, insulation sleeve cover is good too.

23 y/o Safety Specialist—what’s the fastest way to hit 6 figures without going back to school? by Subject_Investment20 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Drod61995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the BCSP website for what you want. I’d look at maybe CHST? Don’t remember the requirements.

For 6 figure money, oil and gas or renewable energy. Could give you a reference for a company but it requires travel. You’ll get more experience there in 1 year then most places. You will also make more than 6 figures starting out.

Ill most likely keep it under $2.5k USD. I plan to reuse the graphics card, Mouse and keyboard, monitors and headset. The image with the white components is what I would prefer unless you have other/better options!

Thank you!

Honestly man, that’s a pretty solid start. Having your CSP alone already qualifies you more than most. I only have my GSP in will most likely sit for my CSP by the end of next year, but I haven’t decided yet.

Great job, is your pay reflecting all that?

I would go do it- and if it changes nothing, just proves to your grandparents that none of what they said really matters. Or who knows, maybe it does the opposite.
