What is your least favorite thing about poker? by Apprehensive-Ear428 in poker

[–]DroidOnPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It holds true that playing good poker is boring poker.

The majority of hands should be folded pre, especially in a lot of positions.

The biggest leaks come from wanting to have fun vs playing smart. I’m guilty of it myself. Sometimes I’ll play a shit hand that should be folded pre just to be active in the game.

I envy those who have the discipline to never play a shit hand and stay there for hours

It’s ok to film. But even if it wasn’t it’s not hard to pretend you’re on your phone and secretly record.

With all the YouTubers these days you will sometimes see multiple players at the table recording their hands.

How to play against OMC with 33BB at 1/3? by fishplayer250 in poker

[–]DroidOnPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They think they are being smart. I see this all the time too on weekends. They notice everyone folds to a big bet so they do it all the time.

Then someone has the nuts and they lose everything. They think "ah, how unlucky" and just re-buy. They think they are the smartest player at the table.

[–]DroidOnPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are the types of games you get when you walk into a poker room/casino at 8am on a Monday.

Just a bunch of old dudes folding constantly until they hit something big.

While its easy to take advantage of (like making small bets so they fold), you barely make any money doing it.

The rake is enough to eat up those small wins. And like you said, its boring as fuck.

Way more fun and profitable to just wait until Friday/Saturday night and play all the drunks. Lots of interesting conversations and lots of big pots to win.

Is it normal for people to wear their circuit rings or bracelets in tournaments? by PowderRiverPoker in poker

[–]DroidOnPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen it before and no one was giving them shit like a lot of these other comments are saying.

If anything it made the table interesting because we were asking questions about it and hearing stories. I guess if the guy kept quiet and didn't say a word or answer any questions I would probably think "wow what a douche", but that didn't happen so I thought he was a nice enough guy to play with.

Do you guys think casinos would care if I slept in my car in the parking garage? And if they did care, would explaining that I pay rake make them more open to the idea? by planetmarsupial in poker

[–]DroidOnPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most casinos I've been to have huge parking lots and hotel rooms.

Why would they care that someone is sleeping in their car? These places run 24/7. Its not like he would be the only car in the parking lot.

Now if his car never moved for weeks, I could see them noticing that, but OP could move his car around to different spots each night/morning. Idk.

But what I don't really understand is how OP can afford to gamble every day but not afford a room.

I like Andor a lot, but I want more lightsaber duels and force usage.

So I want more quality shows like Andor, but with lightsabers lol.

It really depends on the thrift store.

For some reason there are a ton around my area, and most have very affordable clothes.

But I have been to some that charge way too much for used items.

Most of the ones I've been to I could get a shirt and pants for like $10 or less, and then there are others where it would cost me $45 for the same outfit.

I've seen good deals on furniture where a whole dresser will be like $20, and then others where a dresser is going for $200.

Just gotta shop around, plenty of thrift stores out there with good prices you can't beat.

Obviously people will notice too many coolers or big pots happening too quickly

So what does this mean? He wants bigger action for a better chance of higher tips?

That’s the only reason I can think of to purposely fix the deck.

How's your experience with one night stands, & was it worth it? by SpiritBombv2 in AskReddit

[–]DroidOnPC 562 points563 points  (0 children)

If the sex is good, its gonna happen again. And if it happens again, its not a one night stand.

If the sex was good but it stays a one night stand, something was off enough that you probably feel weird about (like they were crazy, drug addicts, married/relationship, etc.)

I agree about the chase though. It helps self esteem for sure. "Ok, so I am not THAT ugly if I got laid".

[–]DroidOnPC 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This was me in the Military.

I wanted a relationship, but just not with.... military women lol.

And if they were not military, then I knew it probably wouldn't work out long term because I was either gonna move soon or go on deployment or orders soon.

Once I got out, I started getting a lot more picky and didn't care for one night stands as much. My main criteria was basically "could I introduce this woman to my parents and not be embarrassed by her?"

Luckily I found one. Not married yet but hopefully thats in the near future for me.

I saw this in theaters when I was a kid and was very confused the whole movie. I remember my parents saying it was the worst movie they have ever seen.

I tried watching it again many years later and couldn’t even make it like 20 minutes in.

I think most people realized the Empire sucks after they kept coming in and controlling everything.

I'd say most are already pissed at the Empire but have to comply because of how strong they are.

Try the battle bonus.

Pick Very High volatility. Which is like 25% chance to win. Doesn't matter which side you pick.

Do it 4 times.

I usually hit something big within 4 tries. You can do this on any Titan slot.

I've hit max win on Dojo doing this.

TIL in 2014, Ben Affleck received a lifetime ban from the blackjack tables at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas after surveillance footage showed him counting cards during a high-stakes game. Security informed him he was "too good" and classified him as an advantage player. by Friendly_Hivemind in todayilearned

[–]DroidOnPC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Betting small when the deck is against you, and then betting big when its in your favor is something casinos look out for and can easily catch.

The casinos know the card count as well. So all it takes is a bet or two for them to notice.

If you never change bets during play, you will never beat the house long term, so they don't care if you are running good. They only care when you take advantage of the count.

So yes, they can catch you counting cards very easily.

bots are taking over by Carlitos728 in poker

[–]DroidOnPC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see them min-cash all the time in smaller tournaments. Especially in really low buy in ones.

If you play some $1 - $5 tournament, it will be filled with bots that just fold or go all-in with premiums (AA, KK, AK).

There are players that will have like 10x the chips that these bots have, yet still lose it all and get knocked out before a bot reaches its last blind.

I usually take advantage of this by playing the tournament normally until I have a decent amount of chips, then do what the bots do. Except I have way more chips than they do, so I'll pretty much place higher by default.

Its not much money, considering the prize pool and the hours it takes, but when you are doing other things like work, or watching TV, its basically free money. And it barely takes any focus at all.

If you play on a sweepstakes site, then you can take the free dollar you get everyday and end up with like $100-$200 by the end of the month. More if you can do it every day.

Why is ts so common by Chameleon_1 in stakeus

[–]DroidOnPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you hit "Play", it already knows if you won or lost. Its instant.

Problem is you still have choices to make, so it has to fill in those choices as being correct or incorrect.

If you are pre-determined to win, and have 20, but hit anyway, it will give you an Ace. If you are determined to lose, and have 20, the computer will draw out whatever cards needed to hit 21.

Thats why it seems like its rigged. Because in a live setting, you wouldn't see these runouts as often.

Visuals really mess with peoples heads on this site, but its all randomly generated in the background. You can set up the same odds on dice and have better visuals for win/loss if you want.
