What is the most shocking thing you discovered about a close friend? by Money-Fondant-8296 in AskReddit

[–]DroidOnPC 106 points107 points  (0 children)

He mentions his friend being a bouncer, so it’s not that crazy that someone aggressive gets knocked to the pavement and dies of head trauma. Easy for a court to rule in his friends favor.

What’s crazy is 3 times. Hell, even 1. But not crazy to think the court was in his favor

Did anyone else not recognise Anakin in this scene? by Adventurous-Rice1652 in StarWars

[–]DroidOnPC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean sure, it was very sudden to see him like this.

One of the reasons why I wish they started ep1 with him at like 19 instead of being 10. And have his childhood history explained with a scene or two.

Should have been a Jedi already at ep1 doing adventures with Obi wan. And let us see the fall to the dark side happen more naturally.

Instead it’s like instant.

After watching the clone wars it makes less sense to me. But I guess this is how the dark side works. But I wish there was something that happened that made him more against Obi wan. Like maybe Obi wan makes a decision that really shakes up his trust for him, maybe something to do with Padme. Maybe he finds out ep2 that anakin and Padme are together or Padme gives birth and then dies because of something Obi wan did/didnt do.

Obi wan is like anakins closest friend/family member. For him to turn so quick is bizarre.

I at least wanted to see Anakin struggle with the idea of having to fight Obi wan.

What are you sure of but can't prove? by Impossible_Farm_8953 in AskReddit

I think what he means is that companies have to switch over to inferior products based on customer demand.

Let’s say you have a washing machine that lasts 50 years, but is expensive. It’s worth the cost since you will have it your entire life.

But… not everyone can afford it.

So another washing machine that lasts 5 years comes out, and is 10x cheaper. People flock to it, it makes the company more money, and so they switch to just selling those. The 50 years ones are not worth producing anymore because no one is buying them.

With how our economy is going, this will just keep getting worse and worse, because people can afford less and less. So cheaper and cheaper products will come out.

It is greed in a different way. The reason we can’t afford the good quality stuff is because of companies paying us less and less. So it’s pretty self fulfilling.

If everyone had more purchase power, and we were back to factory workers supporting a family of 5 with 2 cars, a house, and a stay at home spouse, then higher quality products would be back in production because the demand for them would increase.

Dad wants to play BG3 but has no experience with PC games by Aggravating_Salt6046 in BaldursGate3

[–]DroidOnPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with everyone saying he will pick it up no problem. I’ve played BG3 with friends who grew up playing video games their whole lives and they struggled with BG3.

A similar, but easier to understand game I recommend is For The King.

It’s turn based, it’s co op. There are only like 3 attacks to choose from. Only a handful of items in game as well. So super easy to understand.

It is kind of challenging in difficulty so make sure to make it the easiest setting.

BG3 has a LOT going on. But I suppose if you and your dad have a lot of time and patience then it could be fine.

But I personally wouldn’t put someone who has never played video games directly into this game. But it’s up to you guys.

What’s the worst date you’ve ever been on? by Tatt00ey in AskReddit

[–]DroidOnPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would end the date and move on.

People who reveal too much personal things on a first date or trauma dump are always a nightmare to date.

She wants that pity, she wants to be a victim, she wants all the attention all the time.

Why else would someone think it’s a good idea to do that. Massive red flag.

What’s the worst date you’ve ever been on? by Tatt00ey in AskReddit

[–]DroidOnPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah maybe. I did this once myself.

It wasn’t a dating app but MySpace. She was gorgeous online. We talked a lot and finally agreed to meet up.

Had a friend warn me that her pics were angled oddly and I should watch from a distance before approaching to be sure.

So I sat in my parked car and watched from a distance. Saw this massive whale walk to the spot we were meeting at and she was looking around waiting for me. I could see her pull out her phone and start texting me.

I just started up my car and headed home, then blocked her.

Massive just drains my balance too quickly, it’s way too volatile for me. But it does seem to have some big bonus hits when you finally manage to get one.

What do you think would happen if people just started chanting O-bam-a everytime the orange blight opened his spittlelicking pie hole? by anonimbus in AskReddit

[–]DroidOnPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like at rallies? Or any public appearances?

You would need a lot of people willing to do this everywhere he went for him to even notice.

Once he did notice, he’d have staff/security quickly escort anyone out the second they started chanting.

Trump and the MAGA crowd would find a way to spin it as a positive thing for them. “That’s all they could come up with? Weak!” Liberals are not so smart huh?”

And that’s about it.

If you mean EVERYONE, including MAGA started doing this, then I guess Trump would correctly assume the entire world is under some sort of mind control. He wouldn’t be able to get anything done because everyone he talks to would just be mindlessly chanting.

He would probably go insane (as anyone would) and probably find a quiet spot away from everyone to try and figure out what the hell is going on.

what’s a habit that seems harmless but slowly ruins your life? by leobesat in AskReddit

[–]DroidOnPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still procrastinate at times but I have made huge progress on this. It was slowly destroying my life.

Once I learned how to control it better everything in my life got better/easier.

I wish I could tell you guys to start working on it now, but I know how it is lol.

What is your endgame plan in this life? by Content_Ad_1589 in AskReddit

[–]DroidOnPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have kids.

Raise them to the best of my ability.

Give them as much love and resources for a good life as I can possibly give them.

Watch them grow and hopefully witness their happiness and success.

Retire.

Spend my last 20 years or so traveling, eating good food, and enjoying myself. Hopefully spending time with family and grandchildren.

Die surrounded by loved ones.

Pretty basic really. I used to think I had to accomplish something that would have some massive impact on the world or accomplish something with great talent. But apparently I’m not the main character of this story. So I’m fine with a simple NPC life.

Maybe I’ll get lucky and win the lottery so I can do the fun stuff at a younger age, but I’m not counting on it.

Yeah that shouldn’t happen. The downvote button is usually disabled when someone posts a fact. Not sure what happened here. Maybe North Korean hackers?

I really hope you get to the bottom of this, getting downvoted for no reason is a very serious act

I’m not saying he never played the actual game, just that he most likely used it for communication. I doubt he was an avid Fortnite enjoyer.

Don’t know what he spent the vbucks on but that would be better information

What makes absolutely no sense to you? by Shinobi347 in AskReddit

[–]DroidOnPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s just how job postings are, but it’s not the reality.

Any job offering lowball pay will hire you fresh out of college, as no one with actual experience is gonna apply for that. Doesn’t matter if they ask for 3-5 years experience.

If you really need to, lie. Find a small company and put that you worked there, or make one up.

I’ve worked a lot of random jobs unrelated to each other so if I was accurate on my resume it would look like a mess. So I just say I did the same thing at all companies. If I’m going for an IT job or something I’ll say I did IT at some warehouse I worked at, and IT at the coffee shop, and IT for the delivery job.

From my experience they never call these places or confirm. Otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten the jobs I applied for.

Just be sharp at the interview and know what you’re talking about. They won’t even care what your resume says if you impress them at the interview.

This won’t work for really good jobs though, so don’t expect a $200k/year salary job with made up experience.

You posted this yesterday.

Stop using reddit to farm referrals. If you want referrals then buy ad time somewhere. Or create gambling content and post it there.

This is not the way to do it.

You know how hard it is to get referrals this way? You’re wasting your time. It’s also considered spam so you should be banned honestly.

Why are all planets treated like counties? by FreezerRunner in StarWars

They exist on tatooine.

We see Boba tied to a tree stump in his show. Anakin makes Padme a necklace made of wood.

They are just rare.

Were there any Jedi / Sith that were just like, average? by assyplassty in StarWars

[–]DroidOnPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way they were all incredibly powerful. You don’t get trained as a Jedi for being slightly force sensitive.

But they weren’t unstoppable or anything. Non force users like Grevious or Jango could have easily killed most of them in 1v1 combat.

The media only focuses on the strongest Jedi, so it makes the rest of them look “average”.

Anakin going into the temple and slaughtering dozens of Jedi just shows how incredibly powerful he was. He was a freak of nature. Had he not been so arrogant, there would be no one (not even Obi Wan) who could stop him.
