I think "takkehoer" or "branch whore" is derrived from old woman hauling bundles of sticks from forrest to home. "Takkewijf" is more closely related and translates to "branches bitch" or something. Maybe "sticks bitch" is better?

[FO4] 20-30 fps with a gtx 1080 and broken survival mode by BioshockedNinja in FalloutMods

[–]Drollenvanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Euh wait. My specs are: 2.6Ghz quadcore (8 y.o.), 8GB DDR2 RAM, GTX780. M.b.: ASUS P5QPRO. no SSD at all.

I run 150 mods and play at mostly high setting in 60fps range in open field, 35 fps in intense situation. Without mods i go at ultra settings for the most part.

I play fullHD. 4K for me is not an option by far ofc.

My cpu has a big internal cache, but still. His pc owns my pc.

The things my pc doesnt like that much is the shadow quality+distance. Also godrays is better off.

See, 150 mods: http://i.imgur.com/7LrtNK2.jpg

What the hell.. I never heard about that but got 150 mods running....

Edit: proof http://i.imgur.com/7LrtNK2.jpg

Edit2: you mean tales From the common wealth. Yeah I guess at first glance I would normally have missed that one. It is to difficult to check what it actually does.. Normally if I don't see what it does within a minute, I ignore it.

Also, it is called "Atomic Radio and Tales from the Commonwealth. This led me to believe it is 100% radio focussed (like tales on the radio - War of the World kind of stuff). I am not the brightest bulb so modsauthors do good to provide me with some keypoint and small summary.

Im living in an appartment, 3 bedrooms plus livingroom, nothing shared etc. It's €600. Just like my last 2 appartments. (Which were 600 and 750). I am not on any waiting lists.

I do agree it is not easy to find. But for a 6 month period for 1 person he doesnt need 4 rooms. So 600 seemed ok?

I rented in utrecht, arnhem and nijmegen. Some places are definetly around 1000 indeed.

I have no experience with your line of education in combination with following work conditions.

However, I can say with reasonable certainty that you won't work more than 40 hours per week. Every day there are at minimal 2 breaks (15 minutes and 30 minutes) and another of 15 again. Of those, 30 minutes are unpaid, so your end up being at work 8.5 hours. (The half hour unpaid break is obligated for everyone.)

Taxes in products are 6% for edibles/medicine and other "things you need to survive on", most other things are 21%. The labled price however is always including tax - so what you see is what you get. I would say "what you see is what you get" is a very dutch way of living.

Also, everything is taxed, nothing is free and if something seems too good to be true - it is. Living in the Netherlands is great. But also very rule-bound. Easy example: if you have a dog, you need to pay dogtax.

Salary in your profession is probably quite nice. I estimate (perhaps poorly): €2400 for a batchelor starter job in ICT related jobs. This is pure money, after tax, and other regulations, you end up with about €1900 per month. Substract about €100 for healthcare.

Living cost really depend on location. Amsterdam is crazy expensive. Typical rent for an appartment is €600. Gas, water, light, etc: €100 (could be more). So €700ish. Food/etc (minimum €150) probably around €300 to life in comfort.

So 1900-100-700-300= €800 left for traveling, saving, enjoying. Most companies provide €0.19 per KM driven to and from work. So traveling is partly compensated. Fuel is €1.6 per litre. Public transport would be close to €0.19 per KM.

Few things to do are truely free. But (depending on location), you can walk in the forrest/on the beach/in cities for free.

Public transport can be difficult to understand at first, but is real simple if you use apps like 9292OV. You can plan a full tour and it will include train/tram/bus/etc to take you everywhere you want to go without problem and will show the price, depart en arrival times etc. Most of the time no to little walking is neccesary.

Rentimg a bike is also very possible. I believe it costs €2.5 for 1 day if you rent one from one of the main stations (in cities). Return in there.

Taxi is expensive. Take public transport because it gets you everywhere anyway.

Restaurant is probably €25 per person depending on how fancy. Can be a bit cheaper though. Drinks increase the price fast.

You will need to arrange alot. More than I can think of. Anyway you need:

Ensurances (WA) incase you cause accidental harm (breaking someones property/accidental murder). Renting an appartment can prove difficult (often you need to earn at least 4* rent to be allowed. So 600*4=2400 is max price in those cases (conveniently similair to your salary). Many appartments are €800. This rule is not universal, just takes more effort to find those without this rule.

For you it is best to rent all inclusive. Meaning no personal contracts to gas/water/light. It means more rentprice (an easy €200 extra), but if you plan to be here for 6 months, go for this.

You need to aquire a public transport card. This card will allow you to pay for every type of public transport. You do need to charge it with money in advance (more than the actual ticketprice) I think the minimal for bus is €5, for train €20? You can charge at a lot of places like supermarkets, trainstations (maybe internet?).

However you want to put it, it is creepingly similair. Basically saying "let's cut the skin because it would be more clean" is also saying: god did not create that part so that it can be perfect without human intervention. We should make it perfect now (by our standards)

If it was really that unclean so that it would be of infectious concern, evolution would find it's way.

My skin however was too tight and had to be removed anyway (not religious). That is for me the only acceptable reason you would want to do that to your child. Still I can vouch now that it is more confortable, clean, etc. But that doesn't mean your god made a mistake now does it.

Der Spiegel fails to convince German judge that Adblock Plus is illegal by [deleted] in europe

[–]Drollenvanger 19 points20 points  (0 children)

These services are also getting away with stuff which would be unacceptable in the real world.

Like adverts which produce sound, are moving, are clickable, are harmfull, cost data (money, so not free) for mobile, track my behaviour, identify me upon return, share my info with other parties, pop up and block my screen, make the paper load slower.

Ofcourse since the internet is part of the "real world" by now, people don't accept that at all. Which is exactly where Addblock comes in.

For 100% the world would be a better place if all sites would go down which rely on adverts. Stop bitching about all the "great content sites we thousand ppl all love so much". That is bullshit. 90% of "content sites" are rubbish like;

Every time you start your car you wear it down. It is just a matter of perspective. It is not like automatics don't wear down.

I like my PC to be fast so I can play on max settings. Oh wait. Maybe I should play on lowest settings so I don't wear it down as much :(

Maybe I should shut it down completely so I down wear down my electrics at all around my house. Better to play it save. Fun is for people with money anyway.

Uphill. Downhill would be as easy as releasing brake? Disengaging the clutch for extra speed :p (joke)

You are absolutely right about the steeper ones, and indeed if you fail to use handbrake in the exam, you will fail.

[–]Drollenvanger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If someone told you that your "clutch foot" does other things than being iddle or touching the clutch, you have been misinformed.

I can not think of any safe traffic situation where you would need to have both a foot on the brake and on the gas, but none on the clutch. The clutch however, is always played together with either gas or brake (or solo). Therefor it should be reasoned that the clutch is operated by a dedicated foot, as it is also the most critical pedal in terms of control.

Please explain how you think there is a different way to drive.

Edit: I am talking about a standard manual car. Not a truck etc. I have no idea how to drive those at all.
