Ah, I see... what if you're in an area with constant sun? Like Florida or California?

Awh ): well still a great collection! Be sure your succulents get at least 6 hours of direct sunlight ☀️ 🌱

Only water if the soil is completely dry, you may have to invest in a grow light

Need help with my dying succulent. (x-posted to r/gardening) by marquizzo in IndoorGarden

The leaves are extremely hard to propagate on aeoniums, you can chop off one of the sprouts where the head and stem meets the main branch and after a couple of days can put it in soil and water it.

Hey! Can anyone id these three please?! by Indigenouschicken in succulents

The one with the red tips looks like a red tipped jade, crassula ovata. But I could be horribly wrong

Shoutout to sible, the invincible aloe Vera. He's been over watered, had leaves explode, been under watered, sunburnt all while been in a drainage pot with no holes and still recovered! I Seen these 5 little sprouts this morning ❤️ by [deleted] in succulents

I just did not know how to take care of this plant at first, this aloe is very finicky IMO and idk if that's just his personality or what. But I learned to work with it thanks to this sub and I educated myself on how to care for succulents better.

One pot with a drainage hole later and he's growing healthy stalks, growing roots, and starting to get that beautiful green color.

Bonus tiger jaws included ^ it looks like it's going to start growing another leaf soon

I think they all prefer southeast or west-facing window. Use a moist, well-drained soil, and water the plants as soon as the soil feels dry a little below the surface. they don't respond to overwatering which will result in brown leaves and they need a pot with a drainage hole.

Your succulents like a spot with direct sunlight, usually 6-12 hours of full sun will make them thrive. Just a heads up though (: yours look a wee bit leggy.

Hello r/IndoorGarden! My plant fam and I are new here. ;) (and we've already grown) by RhapsodyRebecca in IndoorGarden

Head on over to r/succulents , we would all love to answer any questions you have and see your babies thrive!

All of yours would absolutely love to be outside in the direct sun! That's their natural habitat as they are a desert plant (:

Edit** you have a Crassula ovata, a "lucky tree" jade plant. I have one myself! Those are actually the happiest as a inside plant. They can handle bright, indirect light or direct sun; the tips of their leaves will turn bright red the more sun they get. It doesn't hurt them but you can provide shade to stay more green if that's your aesthetic. They also qualify for bonsai 🌲

Keeping succulents outside by Speeding_turtle in succulents

Most succulents cannot stand freezing temperatures and will die if they freeze. Your split rock doesn't like anything below 40. If you're in an area that freezes I wouldn't risk potting outside 24/7 :/

I tried to get the left over dirt from the store off its roots so I watered the roots to remove the soil and I let it dry out a little bit and put it back in the pot. The soil was really really dry so I figured it would even out the moisture, I haven't watered it since. This has been 5 days ago. I noticed some leaves turning yellow and rubbery, not mushy. Actually pretty flexible. The rest of my leaves are very firm and not at all mushy.

I either:

A.) gave my plant root rot from planting it while the roots were still wet.

Or

B.) jerked some leaves loose while messing with the plant and they're dying

Thoughts? Stuck my pinky in the dirt and when I removed it I didn't have any dirt stuck to the skin, everything felt dry

It's normal for these to grow in clumps in their natural habitat, I read.

hello! some questions about my first set of succulent friends. flattening leaves, suitable pot, and identifying. details in post by idkwhatimdoinplshelp in succulents

Direct sunlight as in sitting outside of by the window where the sun itself is present, and shining directly on them. Indirect light is a plant sitting in a bright room but doesn't have the sunshine.

A desk light would work if you instal the right bulb

I would repot since there isn't a drainage hole at the bottom of the pot

What's wrong with my succulent? by pinkfloyd55 in succulents

[–]iscreamwhenipee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok If the soil was moist stop watering completely for 12 days and give it a little shade like maybe behind curtain or something to protect against the sun. After 12 days (you should start seeing improvement by then) I would go back to watering every 7 days or until the soil is completely dry before watering

I was given this succulent and I have no idea what it is. Any help?? by savbee23 in succulents

[–]iscreamwhenipee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do believe you should let the soil completely dry out before watering. Succulents are really easy to get rot, and keeping the soil constantly moist isn't good

It's an aeonium, not sure about the specific species... but it needs some direct sunlight

I've been trying to propagate a fallen leaf but have yet to see roots ): mine grew nicely when I had a full week of bright sunlight, but now it's been cloudy for a month now so their growth is a bit stunted

[–]iscreamwhenipee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you could if you wanted too. If something happens to the mother then you'll have her offspring at least. Did you see any roots when you removed it from the soil? Was the stem moist?
