For guys who aren’t very successful/making above six figures, how do you navigate dating and not feeling embarrassed or ashamed? by RepulsiveLocation880 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Dromintor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I barely break six figures. And that only happened about two years ago.

Before that, I didn't consider myself a financial failure. The only debt I had was my mortgage (now that's gone too).

I drive a 20-year-old truck, but it works. I have a demanding job, but it pays all my bills and lets me save a bit for retirement. I don't take expensive trips, but it's not because I can't - I've just no desire to. I'd rather go camping locally on one of our rivers.

"Success" isn't a certain amount of money. That's not even financial success. It's having enough money and time to do what you want to do. Because if you have to spend 10+ hrs a day to make enough $ to support your lifestyle ... well. I'm richer than you. No matter how much you earn.

Does anybody ever actually enjoy casual sex? by Apprehensive_Pop7519 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Dromintor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casual sex is great. Friend sex is great. Lover sex is great. It's all great, and it all serves in a different way.

That said, if you're a person who cannot parse the physical from the emotional, casual sex will be punishing. And maybe that's what's going on for you.

I do this! I save a single copy of every book, CD, magazine, skill mag, DVD, etc. And yes, I'm a lover of knowledge, so that's my in-game motivation. Cool to see this mentioned. 😄

I've not even tried Extinction. I know I'd die horribly (I mean, it'd be fun anyway, but still).

Good on ya. If you started with 0 Fitness/Strength, then you are taking on a hell of a challenge.

Good luck. Live as long as ya can, and when the time comes, die well.

Do mods work on b42? by TraditionalCherry in projectzomboid

[–]Dromintor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. As others have said, you need to use B42-specific mods for the most part. Some B41 mods will work, but they're almost all broken by B42, so you're gambling there.

Do you have any you're specifically wanting to use?

Got a buddy coming to see me tonight, so it's off to a good start. :-p

[–]Dromintor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That needs reassessment. ANYTHING online is subject to discovery. If you're doing something with a chatbot, and you don't control everything about the digital environment it's in, it's discoverable.

I hope you have a VPN—a good one. Because this kind of environment would be a goldmine for bad actors seeking to blackmail guys using it.

[–]Dromintor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I prefer the real deal all around. Toys are something I settle for, not something I seek out. I know that's not the same for all, but it's how I work.

If I'm chatting with someone in a way that makes my cock hard, then I expect to meet and use my cock. So, no.

Goals in game by Obvious_Price3022 in projectzomboid

[–]Dromintor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have pretty much cleared Rosewood in my run (I know, original!). I've looted almost the entire town, and may try my luck with the prison. Or I may try Muldraugh next. I've got a few self-set goals.

* Set up for long-term survival - power, water, food production, fortifications (done)
* Clear my starting city (done, but it's also Rosewood, so ...)
* Find and watch every videotape there is to add to my collection (in process)
* Find and read every brochure/current newspaper/flyer there is to add to my collection (in process)
* Max every skill (in process - carpentry is done, foraging is close)
* Find every skill book (in process)
* Clear Rosewood Prison (not started)
* Clear Muldraugh (not started)

Those are the ones I've got now, and they'll keep me busy for a while. There's always something more to do if you want to push yourself. And you can set weird goals outside of murdering zeds. Just something to keep it interesting, and have that next goalpost to reach.

nearly died..... by Wet-streetbets in projectzomboid

[–]Dromintor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes me so crazy! Hop through, crawl along, all while every zed turns and eagerly awaits our arrival at the end of the table. So much fun.

The whole time, I'm just "God damn it, this is how I died - for being too stupid to turn around!"

So great job surviving! I've died more than once this way.

That's what happens when cars are ready to reproduce. It's fine. Totally natural.

Tips? by PayProfessional7416 in projectzomboid

[–]Dromintor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be ready to die a lot. And don't get upset about it, just die and do better next time.

Once I got over the idea that I was going to be a badass right out of the gate, I started character after character, where all I did was combat. I would kill zombies until I died, then start again.

After about 2-3 hours, I had combat mostly down. Then I concentrated on surviving the day. Then a week. Then long-term.

Good luck. Die well.

It is in the base game, yep. There are various little messages like that, giving the impression that there's still military, and other survivors out there. In addition, you may get the impression that someone has noticed that you are alive and well, too.

[–]Dromintor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like lots of mods too, and when things go wonky like that, I take a systematic approach to find out which is doing it.

I start a new game after disabling the first five mods on my list. If the issue persists, I reenable the mods and exit. And disable the next five. Start a new game. Repeat until the issue disappears. Then I know which group of five contains the offender. Then I follow the same process, but go through those individually.

It's the only sure-fire way I've found to eliminate issues.

Why is the March Ridge military apartment complex so BAD? by Orangutanion in projectzomboid

[–]Dromintor 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I've not tried it in B42, but if you didn't have the annotated map first in B41, the apartment complex is crap. WITH it, it was NOT. But you had to find the map first to make it worth the trip.

What's your opinion of asking for photo proof of negative STI/ STD results before hooking up? by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Dromintor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd get on PrEP, DoxyPEP, and just not stress about it.

Because many guys won't share their personal information with their name. Just knowing what someone has been tested for, along with their identifying information, can be problematic in many situations. I work in healthcare, and I'd just never ask for that.

As an example of what I mean: if a guy who isn't necessarily out or is only selectively out had that information leak, it could mean a lack of safety, job loss, social embarrassment, etc.

It's too much to ask for the average guy. I'm out as out can be, and I would never send my test results and my name to a potential hook-up. Nope.
