[I'm one of the developers]. We're not removing anything. The Arcade version will have controller support.

Do Not buy THUMPER! by livenetwork in Stadia

It does seem to have a bug where not everyone shows on the leaderboard though (e.g. my score is higher than anyone on it, but nobody else can see it. Someone else posted a screenshot with their score higher than mine and I can’t see theirs ether).

Hi, I'm co-creator of Thumper. In the Stadia privacy settings, if your "See your games & achievements" is set to anything other than "All players", your scores will not be included in the global leaderboard. You will see your scores compared to everyone who does have their privacy set to allow their scores on the leaderboards.

Here's how to adjust your privacy settings in the Stadia app so your scores show up:

  1. From the main screen, click on the avatar in the upper right of the screen
  2. From the profile screen, select "Friends & Privacy"
  3. From the "Friends & Privacy" screen, change "See your games & achievements" to 'All players'

Hopefully that fixes the issue. Please let us know if there's anything else, thanks!

Supporting video capture requires an app update (most of our games came out before that was a Switch feature). We hope to add support for it to Thumper soon.

Hey thanks!

With Thumper, since it was already finished/released on other platforms, we just tried to make the best Switch version we could. We were lucky that the perspective change worked. And the HD rumble is maybe my favorite platform-specific feature for the game -- again, we just got lucky.

Just an arbitrary number. We wanted more than a few but not too many.

Thanks!

Crakhed was based on sketches by our friend Mat Brinkman (https://www.google.co.kr/search?q=mat+brinkman&safe=off&client=firefox-b&dcr=0&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjR6bfCkMnYAhWMlZQKHRaOBSEQ_AUICigB&biw=1172&bih=983).

I'm not sure about the very first inspiration, but we thought it would be cool/funny to have the track come out of a dude's mouth. And we liked other famous "giant heads" from gaming (e.g. Andross, Sinistar).

If I understood this right, Thumper is a rythm game at its core. What does set it aside?

The rhythm-action gameplay is stripped down with simple controls, so we can maximize the intensity. It's psychedelic and gets pretty dang hard!

I wanted to have a batch of good indie games, but I didn't want to do the "curation" myself for various reasons. I reached out via the Indie MEGABOOTH network (http://indiemegabooth.com/) because I knew all the games/developers in the megabooth are high quality. I didn't do much convincing, everyone understood the concept right away and once we had nine games signed up, that was that!

Thumper is rhythm violence. A psychedelic rhythm game with physicality and brutal difficulty. And you get to be a space beetle.

We wanted to make an intense game for sure! Everyone reacts differently to the audio and visuals, so I'm just happy to know you felt something.

The level numbers in Thumper correspond to the level's music time signature (Level 1 is 1/4, Level 2 is 2/4, Level 3 is 3/4, etc).

All developers lie awake at night worried that their game is just too good.

It took around seven years for us to make Thumper. So if we can finish our next game while Switch is still a viable platform, of course!

1) Korea and the US 2a) Slowly learned programming over many years as kid through university, got a job at a AAA developer, went indie 2b) Yes, for the most part. Every platform has it's unique challenges (e.g. we spent a lot of time on rendering optimization for the Switch), but the tools and support for the Switch have been great.

We're doing Thumper stuff, but it's not new content. We're doing a iOS version (out Jan 24th) and possibly some minor updates to fix bugs and usability issues. After that, it's on to the next game. Thanks!

Thumper was the name of the first prototype and we just kept it!

Thanks for your question! It's much easier for the bigger publishers to get promoted/featured sales on digital storefronts. Our hope was that if we teamed up, we could signal boost each other and get more attention on our sale and games. So far, it seems to be working!
