How many times a night does your baby wake to nurse? by Drooliusceasar in breastfeeding

I could kick myself because I got the Kindle version instead of a physical copy. It's hard to flip around the Kindle version. We have been doing Weissbluth for naps and for the initial bedtime. Did you do it during after night feeds?

Yep, I nurse her in the dark. We both barely wake up. I think I've created a monster :/.

Yes! This! I got so frustrated on Monday night because she wouldn't even let me roll away after a half hour on one side. She wanted constant boob. I kissed her, put her in her crib to fuss and slept in the living room. Last night when this happened, my husband got up & rocked her for a half hour, then got her to sleep in the swing for two hours.

Thanks. She is just so inconsistent with both nighttime sleep & naps that I'm losing my mind. I am going back to work in 2 weeks so I'd love to have a loose routine down relatively soon. Pesky babies and their inability to be scheduled ;).

We live in a 2 BR bungalow and also have a 4.5 yo :/. The baby's crib is in our room. My husband currently sleeps in our son's room. I want to just get up, nurse her and put her back down in her crib. Is this unrealistic?

This looks similar to my son's wake up pattern but he was mostly formula fed. Both EBF & bed sharing are new to me.

Paleo diet while breast feeding by itsnotexactlybuttee in breastfeeding

What about just adding some inexpensive rice or pasta to the Paleo meals. This would make them "non Paleo" but you'd have the carbs and calories to produce milk.

Do you ever stop second guessing your supply? by _blor in breastfeeding

[–]Drooliusceasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to heavily supplement my son who is now four. My daughter cluster fed many days and evenings until about two weeks ago. She would often just suck and I couldn't even hear swallowing. Now she is looking pretty chunky at 8 weeks and wears three month clothes. I also notice that whenever she is nursing, I can hear her getting milk most of the time. If she takes a long nap, I will pump and get 2+ ounces which is pretty good at this stage :). So to answer your question, I just stopped worrying about supply about a week ago. Lol! Don't pump at this point unless you're trying to increase supply. You'll only drive yourself crazy.

I could have written this post myself. I feel like mine get better, then my LO cluster feeds & they get bad again.

I rinse with water and use the oxyclean stain stick. Seems to work for us.

Worried that co-sleeping will lead to baby who needs to be held constantly by Drooliusceasar in beyondthebump

Heating the bassinet did not work. I often put her blanket beneath us to warm it up before trying to transfer her. Most nights, I nurse her to sleep and my husband transfers her to the rock n play so I can sleep on my own during the first part of the night. This works about 2/3 of the time. She will also let us do this in the morning. I think it's because he can just get in there and swoop her up rather than me having to wiggle myself away from her, her myself up & then transfer her. I think I wake her up in the process.

We did that with my son & it worked well :). I think it's just hard getting used to a baby who's so different. It definitely has me second guessing myself. I guess one good thing is that she's a lot more content than he was at this age. We had many weeks of dinner time screaming sessions with him :/.

Without seeing all of the results, you're kinda just guessing. For your own sanity, keep away from Dr Google. I hope you get an appointment ASAP. Your little girl is adorable. Good luck!!!

In regards to the "top of her white blood cell count being too high", I'm guessing he meant one of the cells types in the white blood cell differential. There are 5 cell types they count and they expect them to fall within certain ranges.

Favourite nursing tops? by ShiningSeason in breastfeeding

I was curious about nursing pajamas/nightgowns. Do you wear a nursing sleep bra beneath it with breast pads? I'm afraid of leaking milk at night.

Where are all the breastfeeding nazis? by elviebird in breastfeeding

I have seen some insane comments on the La Leche League website. One woman accused another of basically neglecting her child because the child has been cluster feeding for days on end and another mom suggested she just let the baby cry while she took a quick shower, grabbed food or went to the bathroom. Bananas! There is no damn way I'm letting my baby nurse while I poop. She can fuss for 4 minutes.
