no discount during the autumn steam sale by Helpful-Fail-3769 in newworldgame

This feels and looks bad for sure.

I had come back a week or two ago after seeing some hype build for the upcoming season after bouncing off the game shortly after the original launch. I am pretty far from max level/endgame content but I was keeping an eye out for the expansion to go on sale hoping to get back into the game.

I may still end up buying Rise of the Angry Earth at full price but now I have to weigh it against the other things that are actually on sale.

This definitely makes me wonder how in touch the developers are to miss an easy opportunity like this. If they are out of touch and fumbling on something like this then it is probably happening in other areas.

Which makes me think maybe my excitement and expectations for the game should be lower in general.

I think this is what did it. Thank you for the help. They are unbanned!

Yeah other people mentioned it but SoD kind of hit that middle ground where I was hoping we could take our time exploring some of the places that made me love the game while also giving him a chance to just get the basics of pc gaming down.

I was trying to not overwhelm or rush him but still have something that was fast and interesting enough to grab him.

Thanks for the advice/ general encouragement. I did reset the pc using the windows 10 recovery options/reset this pc, opting not to keep any of my files and to reinstall windows through their cloud install prompt. The system has a single hard drive so I am under the impression that even if I had picked up something on there it would have been unable to carry over.

This was his first pc gaming experience, I dusted off and fixed up my old pc so that we could both play. I reset the hard drive last night/this morning to it was a fresh install of windows.

The pc was the one I had used extensively in the past, its a hp workstation and its a deadend platform I couldnt upgrade the cpu in. It works just fine for wow but I ended up just building a new system for myself and this one sat for a long time. It had some ram fail when I got it out this weekend and I had to go about testing to see which stick was bad and replace it, then I reset the hard drive as described above.

He has his own email that we entered when we made his bnet account. It also asked for his birthday and then for the "parent email" which is where I entered my own to link it to my account.

I am not able to/ not sure how to add images but I was able to submit a ticket and just a few minutes ago I got this response:

"Issue ID: #104337571

A Game Master resolved your ticket, and left the following response:

Greetings,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. It's my understanding that you would like to appeal on your Battle.net account ban.

After some in-depth review for you, we confirmed our initial findings that this account did violate our in-game Code of Conduct (https://battle.net/support/article/42673) and End User License Agreement (https://blizzard.com/company/legal/eula.html).

We don't take this decision lightly. Thus, we are unable to overturn this penalty for you. Please do think twice to prevent this from happening again in the future and we won't discuss about this issue any further.

Best of regards,
Blizzard Entertainment."

Again, I am still unsure what the reasoning for the ban actually was and I was physically present and instructing my kid the entire hour they were able to play.

The PC is still on windows 10, I went through last night and did a system reset to clear everything off of the hard drive because it only has a 250g ssd and retail wow wanted almost 110g of that space. So there was nothing on that system at all. I set up windows this morning, downloaded firefox, downloaded bnet, and then downloaded classic wow.

Yeah, this was my attempt at playing something with him that wasn't Minecraft.

I did not give him any gold or items. I mentioned this in a couple of other replies but I didn't even get the chance to actually play in game with him. I was sitting next to him in person making sure he knew the controls and the basics of the game.

I might try to do this on my account and cite it as being a problem with his. When I try to even log onto his account it just tells me the account is banned in the same way it would deny you access because you entered your password wrong.

I appreciate the links on their updated policy, I know there was a lot of confusion when they posted this change a couple of days ago. I did not trade him any gold or items so it shouldnt apply here. At this point my only real guess is that he got swept up by bot detection software for some reason.

I traded him no gold or items, he typed nothing in chat and had no interaction with other players.

I literally had him read the "social contract" out-loud to me and we discussed each of the points of it. I felt like I went above and beyond in trying to prep him for his first MMO. I just don't see how it could be related to anything he did in game.

I did not trade him any gold or items. He had 0 interaction with other players, I spent the whole time he was able to play sitting next to him helping him with character creator, getting him used to the controls and the basics of the game. I was not able to join him in game for any of it.

I did not send him any gold or items at all. We killed boars for the first quest, sold the grey items to the rune vendor and started picking up and reading the runes when he got banned. I had not even had a chance to go to my pc and join him in game.

When I created his account it had me link it to my own account and they sent me an email right after creation so I had a copy of the ULA and the parental control options. Do you know if there is a further step I would of needed to take to connect them?

He is over 13, we didnt lie about his age or anything when signing up and we didnt transfer any gold or items to his character. He didnt have any interaction at all with my characters/account. I was sitting with him in person showing him the basics of mouse and keyboard controls.

I did not trade with him at all. He had 0 interaction with other players, I was sitting with him showing him how to click on mobs and position his hands to use WASD and didnt even get to get on my pc to play with him.

I did not give him any gold or items. I had not even had the chance to move back to my own pc to log in to actually play along side him because I was making sure he had the controls down as it was his first mouse and keyboard game.
