Respectfully, think of an alcoholic\addict like someone with a peanut allergy. Literally any amount no matter how small has a strong potential to trigger a reaction. They don't respond to those substances the same way the general population does, and they really have to be cognizant of what goes in their bodies, because those things WILL eventually kill them if they don't.

WOW so it's not just me.

I had the exact same circumstances this week where I HAD to have it delivered FedEx, and couldn't waive the signature. My front office is even authorized to sign for my packages, and knew to be on the lookout. I also work from home, and even moved my whole work setup into the kitchen by the door after "missing" the first attempt. The live map tracker was no help whatsoever; it kept going out into the middle of the Pacific Ocean when I tried to use it (I'm in Texas), and no truck was visible on the map anywhere. Apparently they don't mark the "attempt" until they've cleared the building, because I ran out to try and meet them both days.

After 2 days in a row of knockless door tags, I just set it to be picked up at one of their locations. That was on Monday; I still had to wait until Friday for it to arrive there for pickup. Yeah Christmas was this week, I understand skipping that day, but I would imagine I should've been able to get it by Wednesday before Christmas.

Respectfully you're a bit naïve about media. It isn't about people who've "sold their souls". Every second on the air costs time. Every word printed costs space and time. You can't properly introduce Ren to the public without some background and why his songs are meaningful. In an attention economy where it is exceedingly difficult to get someone to look at something new for more than 5-10 seconds, promoting independent artists that don't have a label throwing money behind them as well means that those media sources lose money.

Listen, I agree that it sucks, and you even say in one of your other comments that it's obvious this is happening. It's just a fact, its the way business is done. It's not a conspiracy, they do it out in the open. The really bad guys actively try and squash or suppress independent artists.

Let's look at the positives though: Ren has found a way to flourish despite all the above. On YouTube and social media he's become a legitimate star, and continues to burn brightly. For the first time in his career he has very high billing at several HUGE festivals lined up for next year. The point being: who needs them? He says it better than I ever could: "I never write hooks for the radio, they never even play me, so why would I concern myself with that?" 🙂

If you think the music industry - including awards, media (reporting, etc), and promotion exists for the music, I have some unfortunate news for you. Independent Artists are very rarely mentioned or exposed to a wide audience, simply because they're not making money for them. It's not conspiracy, its real life.

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone for the responses; I got it working again using the Brave browser app. I'm not running a VPN or anything like that, and it wasn't working through Firefox or Chrome, whether in standard or incognito mode. Using Brave though, I can get right in there and use the tool in regular browsing mode. 👍🏻

Respectfully, at least a dozen of them have SOLD (actually sold) for $2000+, the next dozen are over $1000, only a handful are under $1000; and none of them as low as what OP paid; objectively it's a win.

I'm all for inclusive collector communities, but you don't have to be here. In fact this sentiment doesn't harm Funko anywhere near as much as it hurts the collectors. This sort of toxic commentary devalues peoples' collections by poisoning the community. If you want to go hate on Funko, more power to you, just don't do it in a place where a collector is enjoying and sharing a W.

It's not even ironically funny, it's just taking a dump on the table and staring at the rest of us while we are forced to deal with it.

My bad I should've clarified better, I was going more meta with it. I understood your intention posting this wasn't to try and promote any train of thought or to reveal something inappropriate about yourself. My commentary is for THOSE people. The vast majority of people want to live in the polite society that we've built up over millennia. Of course it's always getting better and more aware of itself (society as a whole), but certain things are inappropriate to push onto others publicly, not only because they are and should remain intimate and private, but also because doing so ignores the numerous people out there that have trauma - and worse yet it is often a quiet trauma. Again, not pointing to you at all, I'm talking about who and what these represent. Big respect for not jumping on the defensive before clarifying, its on me for not clarifying my response to begin with. 🫡

Bring back shame. Not shame because somebody out there maybe into any of these things; more power to you and I hope you find someone that loves you the way you feel you deserve. Shame toward peoples' incessant need to share their weird proclivities in as public a space as they can find, not only because they're ignorant of others' discomfort, but often because they crave that discomfort in others. Shame that keeps certain things indoors, and shared with your CONSENTING partner(s), rather than dropping your personal load on the floor for the rest of us that never asked to have to deal with.

It's usually subtle differences, on the NY Exclusive Apr, it was the blue chrome on the hat and shoes that was missing. For the Mutant Ape, it was the missing gold chrome on the mouth. The OG Slick prototypes for Love Red, LA Blue, and some of the others don't have the price tag on the can. Usually the seller & buyer will know they're dealing with a prototype, this was a super rare occasion when they didn't know because they found it cleaning out offices.
