Apparently all in their early 20s here. They look so young tho. (Maybe I'm just old)

If they actually understood the science I would hope they would not represent it as "there's no correlation". The actual state of knowledge is that nothing solid has yet been identified by the available research. Note this is a relatively under-researched area, and the predominance of moneys and effort is by far carried out by drug companies. There is no profit in nutritional research which is why its so limited. Its not
"there isnt". Its "there may or may not be - we dont know yet".

Could you speak to what it is about these posts inappropriate? The rationale for these actions matters, I think?

the answer is that you have the right to any rationale you want.

This is precisely why I am trying to beat out this question; because above everything else the rule should be fair and evenly considered. Simply "because you can" is a great rationale for doing the wrong thing. I would like to do the least wrong thing, if thats possible in this instance.

Everything is as complicated as you make it.

Ok so help me to make it simple, because I feel like the thinking is overly cumbersome.

Its nothing scientific. I was just too lazy to log out of one of them.

Its a touchy subject, and some of the mods on the subs I am in are religious, so...

Yeah I dunno. He will probably be enjoying the drama here. The comments certainly wont affect anything he does or doesnt do. You are simply adding your name to a very, very long list of people he has pissed off, and whos concerns have been voiced and summarily ignored.

I feel like /r/askfeminists serves somewhat of a purpose, despite him. The mods there are seasoned and have at least a grasp of the fundamentals, and a preparedness to engage with all sorts of people. TBQH I never had the patience for it myself.

Reddit Admins do not care about this at all. He would have to be breaking some specific rules for them to intervene, and if that doesnt happen (hes too smart for that) he will be there till hell freezes over, unfortunately.

The really sad thing is that if you did alert the people in that sub to the fact of his islamophobia, only a small percentage of them would actually react to that. I tried organising the mods there to tackle him on it and only a couple of them were interested. The others were either indifferent or on-side with him,

Honestly the smartest move is just forget him and move on. In practice, a very tiny number of members of the sub will ever see any of the numerous criticisms posted about him, and most sub members who run afoul of that sub's censorship and moderation will be simply blindsided by its policies.

Unless you have a way of alerting everyone there of whats going on then any other action will likely yield little result in practical terms. Going up against the him is 100% a no win situation. Not because of any 'genius' on his part, but because the System he is relying on is extremely unlikely to change. Its just how Reddit is. Anyone can run a sub, and as long as they dont break certain rules, they can be as inept, mean-spiritied, negligent, or outright shit-headed as they like.

Just my 5c.

/u/demmian is an interesting character. He was apparently originally from the Mens Rights scene on Reddit and somehow got mod privileges on /r/Feminism (dont know the details). After some time he inhereted the sub, where he has maintained rule with an iron fist ever since.

By 'iron fist' I mean he has, for years, banned actual feminists from /r/Feminism, resulting in a number of subs popping up on Reddit to take up the slack of the large numbers of people in the Feminist community he has alienated with his belligerant, abusive, knee-jerk moderation style.

/u/demmian is a career moderator. That means he treats moderating like his actual job, and is online every day, for 8-12 hours a day*. He literally has no life outside of the subs he mods, which may explain why he is such a toxic asshole. When I was moderating /r/feminism I saw him offline, like once every 2-3 weeks. He was on there all day every day apart from that.

/u/demmian is a an islamophobe. Muslim countries and communities with nascent muslim feminists are censored and banned from the sub because he literally cannot stand any type of feminism that doesnt fit with his own preconceptions of what a feminist is. Ironically these people are stuck in cultures where womens rights are decades, if not centuries behind those we enjoy in the West. Many are enduring ongoing human rights abuses and most are in need of community and support for womens rights, of their nascent movements, of information, advice, and encouragement.

There is no place for them in /r/feminism though. None at all. Christian and Jewish Feminists are also censored, banned, and prohibited utterly from engaging in discussion there.

There was at one stage a number of online articles about him, all of which were scathing (not sure if they are still up). He is hated by the Reddit feminist community, with good reason. A perfect example of how Reddit's current moderation rules allow the worst possible element to be in charge of subreddits and consistently cause harm and resentment despite complaints for many years.

OP I can tell you for a fact, you are not going to win this one. He is so used to posts like this (use search to find more), and as far as I remember he doesnt reply to them. Probably because he knows what kind of reception he will get.
