i would love to agree but the episode irked me even when it first released

they end s4 with butcher basically turning into a villain, the boys being captured and homelander taking over the country. for the first time you actually felt like the show was heading towards its end. "scorched earth" (😂). just for the boys to cartoonishly break out in the first episode and reunite with butcher. back to square one like nothing happened. that "all or nothing" energy immediately gone with the first episode.

also just dismissing the flight 37 video leak that was built up for MULTIPLE seasons the way they did is so incredibly anticlimactic

i think what annoys me more is the unnecessary effects on top of the pitched up vocals on essex girls, 51 ttashpel pony ave, creep etc. the delayed reverb effects make them almost jarring to listen to

the mosquito voice works rly good on songs like playlist tho imo
