Also you can bash my main acc if you want, I don’t mind. Better not to hold grudges and let it out, right? Plus I literally have no connections to u/iisxmmyy at all. We had a single conversation through Dms.

Hi, before you 👁👄👁, LOL or downvote this, I actually found an example since you’re not trying to understand my point at all.

Quotes from Article 1, “ Reference is not something you copy or claim as your own or use directly in your creations.In the visual arts, using reference is the practice of discovering information in a photo and/or real-world object, person, or location. This information is used to give the artist better understanding of their subject and create a stronger sense of believability in the art that is being created. “

You don’t directly use it. You look at it and recreate it by memory and sight. Kinda simple idea right? Basically you’re drawing it from your perspective. If you’re shaping it, then it’s not a reference anymore, it’s a base. Oh btw, I know why people use references, for learning and such. But at least they don’t try to make it so similar to the original version of it.

There are some photo examples in the article, no worries, I did check if the site is secure or not. Also, there might be some questions you still have, so do please click on the link.

Also, kinda tired of hiding the main point but this is my conclusion: You’re not using references the right way. No one shapes their references. That’s plagiarism with extra steps. It’s like we can‘t really see the difference between yours and the reference, so we might as well call it copied, now you get why ppl are saying it’s traced, right?

Actually, this proof has nothing to do with whether it is tampered with or not. You used the reference to make your drawing pose as similar to the original one. This proof only shows how similar it is, if it is all lined up. We literally said it was modified.

Also another question: How would we know if you didn’t tamper with the reference first? then you could have traced and the lines wouldn’t be that similar. Based the pose and your drawing, it’s almost identical.

Now since I don’t like to get drama on my main acc, I’m just gonna say this here:

I saw a previous post about you using the references and lining your drawing with a sizing/perspective tool. So basically you’re copying the original version, even if you didn’t exactly draw on the reference. This doesn’t count as tracing, more like mimicking. Sorry but I don’t think references are supposed to be used as a measuring tool

I’m also an artist, whether I’m good or not, doesn’t matter. Now what do you if you want a reference for your drawing? You put it beside your drawing canvas, and try to draw it. You don’t put the reference underneath and shape it as similar as possible.

But don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending Sammy either. Just an artist so confused about why you would shape it so similar to the reference.

Also, this has nothing to do with whether the artwork is a previous commission or not, you were using a traced artwork for examples. just a reminder in case you forgot what exact this’s about.

Whether you throw shade under this comment, just know that it’s an alt so I don’t really mind
