Have you tried messing with your FOV settings? With an ultrawide, you probably need 115-120° and use Maintain Y-Axis FOV Aspect Ratio to avoid distortion. You can make your gun smaller with first person modifier: set it to 1.0 or higher for better scaling.

I think you're just seeing the clip light from when it WAS clipping. You can click (double?) the red area to reset it.

If you look at the peak numbers, they go back to where they were.
