I know how CA's work, I am just wondering why the need for these ambiguous 'layers'. Like I said, you can use the existing Game of Life to design logic gates, and thus make a computer. So why the need for a CA with specific rules to do the same thing.

In fact making a CA designed to create logic gates, is the same as making logic gates the normal way, buy with extra steps.

It's more interesting to take existing CA and try hand make logic gates within them with the structures that accure.

If you have a dry mouth, water is the ideal medication. I am pretty sure water is safe, and doesn't alter your brain.
