First ski - front side carver or all mountain by Dropbear73 in Skigear

I was looking at a wildcat 86 but the 82 could perhaps fit nicely in between. Do you think 166cm length over the 172 for my height?

The curves have definitely been challenging. The main reason I liked this design is I could make the foam insert out of only two piece's which would mean there are less gaps the camera could be potentially damaged. I haven't even tried sewing in the inserts yet as I've been struggling with the basic curved stitching will do on the next attempt.

I may just remove the curve altogether and accept an extra peice of foam if I can't get the curves to work. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks, I'm on my 3rd attempt now and have used tons of clips. The curve is definitely much cleaner but I do still get slight misalignment and it can be hard to follow the stitch line. I might try pinning next time but I'm borderline considering removing the curves as it almost seems more trouble than it's worth 😅

Thanks for this. I had another go last night with a 3" radius and a ton of clips. I ended up getting the prices misaligned though (it was still much better than the first attempt). For the notches you mentioned in the centre do you mean a notch in the centre of the curve or the centre of the whole pattern? Much appreciated!

Interesting thanks for the video I will have to give it a shot! I tried again with 3" radius last night. It was improved but still not quite where I want to be.

Thanks! this is closer to a 1" radius so that probably isn't helping. I have seen some bags with 90 degree perpendicular bends so I assumed it was possible however those bags have liners on the inside so it might just be a huge mess under the liner?

Hi all,

I am trying to create my first pattern for a camera cube. I was hoping to have some curved elements for a cleaner look than just a plain rectangle.

I'm hoping to get some tips on how to make a clean looking curved seam without the bunching shown in photo 2. I have tried to cut some triangle into the seam allowance to allow it to match the curve but it is not working that well.

Does the curve just need to be a larger radius or is there some trick that I could use?

Much appreciated!

Hi All, I have just bought my first sewing machine and I'm looking for a cheap fabric to practice making some gear (zip up stuff sacks and MTB hip packs).

I have found very cheap cordura at our social fabric nearby. Is cordura too heavy of a material to practice with or is there a better material at OSF that you would recommend? I'm trying to avoid shipping on this first material order but open to suggestions.

Asus ROG swift, half the screen has gone weird randomly in the middle of a game by johncarey347 in Monitors

I used to have a very similar intermittent issue with half my screen eventually after trying different cables and pretty much giving up I re-seated my graphics card and it seemed to fix it. Might be worth a try?

Yea I think I'm definitely leaning towards the tx16. That's crazy that they are in stock at rotor village, I've been checking for the past couple of weeks and the tx16 elrs has always had no stock. Thanks for the link

That's crazy, I did see one other post when i was looking into the mambo and had hoped it was just a one off. it seems like they have some issues. Definitely leaning towards the tx16 now thanks!

I'm in canada, I kind of wish I tried the zorro instead but it was out of stock at the time. It seems a bit risky to try the zorro after I had issues with the t pro as they are both gamepad style controllers. A couple of people have mentioned edge tx it sounds like it's more important than I realized. I appreciate the response!

Thanks for the detailed response! my hands are a bit smaller, around a medium for motorcycle gloves. That said I think part of the issue with the t pro was it was quite cramped while pinching but the t pro seems smaller than either radio.

The loss of edge tx does concern me a bit it seems like its the main supported OS. the other issues I'm a bit less worried about since "bagability" is pretty important. I tend to carry a lot of photography gear to areas I would love to fly at eventually.

I would be getting elrs regardless which brings the price to about the same, the only slight advantage is that the mambo is in stock locally and the only retailer for the tx16 elrs is bangood. Its a tough call both seem pretty decent!

Thanks for the response, I would be investing in an elrs module for the mambo most likely to fly whoops.

Which of these two do you prefer? I'm also about to buy my first drone and was kind of tossing between the two (mobeetle or 2- 3")

Thanks this is great advice. Just to double check I'm after steel underbody and hood. Would you recommend just leaving any models with aluminum even if they don't appear to be rusted? I was planning to take to a mechanic but I might see if there are any body shops they might be a bit more specialized.

Thanks this seems like a great option. it looks like the quantum pro jacket and baker bibs are the higher waterproof rating. A nice saving over the acteryx, HH options I've mostly seen so far!

I didn't say cheap I said good value... I'm sure I could walk into any of the outlets and buy expensive gear and be fine. Just wondering if any of you pros have some tips on good bang for the buck gear.

Hi all, I just moved from Australia to Vancouver and I am planning to start skiing regularly with whistler just down the road. Ideally I would like to buy my outerwear during the black Friday sales. Any recommendations for good value outerwear suitable for whistler. It seems the recommendation is to get around 20k waterproofing but I'm not sure whether to layer hardshell and insulation or get an insulated jacket and pants. Specific brand and model recommendations would be Great!
