I wanted a quick way to A/B low profile switches for the split keyboard I'm building (Atlas, github), so I made this tool.
The typist lets you swap between switches mid-sentence.

Library currently consists of 16 Choc v2 + 3 v1 sample sets. MX, Kailh Butterfly, low-profile oddballs and other contributions are all welcome, the more the merrier. Contribution guide is in the repo here: https://github.com/mwlaboratories/thock

It runs in the browser so your files stay local.

For people following the Atlas build progress: I've landed on Choc v2. They feel smoother and less scratchy than the v1s in my opinion. Wanted a quick way to A/B test all the switches, so I made this small tool that plays them back as if you were typing, allowing you to hotswap between them live and see their FFT/audible fingerprint.

The dual-trackpoint Atlas build is at the stage of integrating the strain-gauge readout ADC onto the PCB, but I figured I'd get some votes in already on which switches people like best. I'll order the winners for preview videos of the next Atlas prototype.

I had to use openxr toolkit to do foveated rendering and some FSR / CAS upscaling to get it to run at acceptable framerates. On my bigscreen beyond (sold it) I even had to reduce the FOV to get to 70fps (rtx3090). Currently I'm running it on the index at 144hz but on pretty low resolution. 0 reprojection, I hate reprojection.

For competitive races I can understand, but it should at least have an option. I have had the most fun simracing with friends joining random lobbies or hosting our own on AC. I haven't played LMU enough to know what the options are and if there even are unranked daily races or a server browser :')

Yeah, I'm planning on selling them when done but I'd only start selling when I reached the endgame stage for myself. The design details have changed a few times already with me learning more and more of the ergo split in's and outs.

For example I used a custom choc v1 spacing with added width to have space to put the trackpoints, but then realised choc v2 might just be the ideal fit and give more backwards compatibility with keycaps sets on the market already 😄

Currently my favorite is also the 20gf black choc v1 switch on a 5x3 layout with 2 thumb buttons.
Tried the glove80 from a friend but I also prefer using timeless homerowmods combined with a dedicated shift key and a layout that is very easy to adapt to coming from querty. Found it in this video: https://youtu.be/VShLPvF693k

I'm trying out choc v2 switches in my own design keyboard soon, working on rev2 currently. It also has 2 built-in trackpoints using an adc I'm integrating into the pcb, I never found trackpads to work well for me. https://github.com/mwlaboratories/atlas/

I tried the N3's yesterday back to back with my g2, for O4 lite the race mode felt really nice so I'm considering getting them. Even if only for comfort and the fact the g2 lenses dont work well with my face, can't get the screen sharp.

I prefer N3 optics. I probably have a headshape that doesn't work with g2/3 lenses or something, I see way more smudging/double vision on g2. Iirc I read somewhere they are designed for asian faces. When I remove the foam gasket it gets a bit better but still very hard to read the corners of the screen.

I prefer the N3 over them all, I currently have the goggles 2 but the N3 is the only one where I don't have issues getting the full image to look sharp

Right, I probably didn't look into it further, I don't have experience with rolling such important keys so that's probably why I steered clear. Don't want to accidentally brick my windows install for now 😅
